New Member, First Rolex Purchase advice needed

Hello - Rolex and TRF Newbie here.

I have always wanted a Submariner and have found what I think is going to be my first Rolex purchase locally. It is a 16610 Submariner Date with an M serial and engraved Rehaut. The documentation/receipt says purchased new in 2009 and serviced in 2013. The watch looks flawless and comes with box etc... Without seeing pictures, I understand there can be some variables, but in general does $5100.00 USD sound like a reasonable price for this watch?

Thanks!!
-RT

Quick update, I chose not to purchase the 16610 mentioned based on a few things I learned by reading this forum and by having an AD and watchmaker take a look at it with me pre-purchase. It looked authentic as all of the serial numbers matched etc but the coin edge was not sharp - as if someone over-polished. There were very fine scratches on the case back which was a bit too shiny indicating the same improper polishing. I also had it pressure tested - in failed both the pressure and vacuum....At that point I didn't even bother having the back removed to have the movement inspected......
I'll be taking the advice of the group and purchasing from a reputable seller on this site :) Thank you TRF for saving me from going down the wrong path and being the best Rolex site on the interwebs!
Cheers,

Quick Update -

I ultimately chose not to purchase the 16610 I was looking at from a private party. I will be taking the advice of the members here and looking for a good fit from a reputable TRF seller.

Interesting experience, as a result of hours on TRF and some feedback received from members, I looked for things in this Rolex purchase I never would have thought to look for. I took it to an AD and watchmaker pre-purchase and found a few red flags that lead to my decision not to purchase:
-The watch was noted as "serviced by Rolex last year" but the coin edge bezel was not as sharp as it should have been indicating perhaps a bit of over-polishing which Rolex would not do. too much metal missing for a timepiece of this age..
- The back of the case was a little too shiny showing very fine scratching with a loop which also looked like too much polishing.
- I asked for a pressure test, which it failed on both pressure AND vacuum - pretty sure Rolex would have replaced seals if needed less than 12 months ago.

I didn't even bother to have the case opened and inspect the movement verified at this point. If it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck...

Maybe I was a bit picky but, I am way more comfortable investing a few more bucks for a Sub that is standing tall as it should.

Thank you TRF for providing the education that prompted me to question that which I would not have before. This is the best Rolex forum on the interwebs!
