New to the forum, sort of new to Rolex
What's up!
I'm inheriting 2 DJs real soon (both are RG/SS combo, black dial, fluted & jubilee). One's circa '80s, the other '70s. Love these watches! I also want to buy a Submariner. Going to my AD again tomorrow, actually. I like the new 116610 SS black dial w/date. However I'm thinking maybe I should get it without the date. Looks a bit cleaner and less expensive. Even nicer is the YG/SS Sub, but wish it was available in RG. I've seen Subs with red accents and was wondering if I can get those new? Compared to DJs, Subs are not really available in many combinations/options. The DLC/PVDs are badass, but Rolex won't service any watch that's been modified. Bummer. |

There are several combinations in recent Subs, especially when you get into precious metal case/bracelets.
For SS, there is black bezel/belack dial (the standard), green bezel black dial (50th anniversary), and the one I own, green bezel/green sunburst dial. To get a blue dial you must move up to TT or solid white or yellow gold. TT's are very reasonably priced, especially on this site. Vintage: I am not knowledgeable on them. Ask on the vintage sub-forum. |

Thanks, guys!
The AD wouldn't budge on the MSRP of 8500! I tried to get it for under $8k. It's a lot of money to dump on a watch. So many other things I can get for this money. I'd rather spend it on my car. :D Also, the AD had previously owned Rolex showcase and they had an older version Sub (don't know the model, but smaller round markers, smaller case, narrow minute hand) for $5k. Real clean, but passed up on it because the new model looks so much better to me. |

You should check out the Subs for sale on this site. Some are brand new, others are mint.

Thanks!
Well, my new sub is waiting for me at the AD. Finances are pretty much in order, still deciding if I should pull the trigger. |
