Daytona 11 series vs dj 41 wearing size

Hi all.

I think I’m approaching end game with my collection.

I’m looking to add a Daytona white or black - but probably white and a gmt 126710blro.

Collection currently is

Datejust 41 blue/ oyster 126300
Sub 116610ln
Exp ii 226570 polar
Seamaster diver 300m blue master coax.

Would like to end Rolex-wise with:

Sub ln or 116610lv or seadweller
Daytona - open to 116520/116500/126500
Pepsi 126710 BLRO
Exp2 - can’t let this go as it’s become -by far- my most worn. It’s so legible and wearable on me.

Seamaster can take it or leave it depending how it pans out.


For those who own both does the Daytona wear like the datejust 41? Looks similar in profile and thickness. Bracelet almost identical.

Daytona is noticeably smaller. You SMP300 wears small for a 42mm.... So does the Daytona wear small for its 40mm size.

The Sub is 40mm but its a Maxi case, so wears larger than a 40mm.

Go and try one on, thats the only way.

You really need to try a watch on before you’ll know how it wears IMHO. The Daytona wears small (to me). That’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Agree, Daytona wears small for a 40, I think its actually 38.something.

But having said that, DJ41 wears small for a 41, I think its actually 39.something.

I've tried a DJ41 on, and I own a Daytona, from memory they wear very similar.

I know watch size is very personal, but I think both are a bit too small in 2024.

I am surprised the Daytona didn't get an upgrade to 42mm, or a second version at that size to run alongside the 40mm.

I have both and they wear similarly. Perfect size, very comfortable watches.

The 11 series Daytona is actually smaller than a DJ 41. The Daytona is somewhere around 38.6 mm where the DJ 41 is slightly less than 40 mm. The 12 series Daytona is 1 mm larger than the 11 series. I have owned a few SMP 300s, both on bracelet and strap. It is a true 42 mm and is huge compared to the 11 series Daytona. The strap version of the Omega does wear smaller than the bracelet version.

The Daytona is 38.5 mm and wears as such. Not too small but not a sizable watch either. The Daytona is an icon in the Rolex line-up.

Same experience here. I have the 116520 - wears very similar to the DJ41.

I measured my DJ41 with a digital caliper, it is 39.4mm.

So the Daytona will wear smaller than a DJ41.

Daytona just right. DJ41 great proportions but lugs hang off my wrist too much. 7.5" around. 55 mm across the top.
