Oysterflex band buying help
Hi. I had bought an oysterflex daytona from AD in a different city (my wife was there to pick it up).
The standard D/F band is a but tight and I would like to change the D to and E for a better fit. I spoke to the AD where the watch was bought and he mentioned that he does not have any other band size in stock right now. I am thinking to go to the AD near me and ask them if they have the E size band. I needed advice (before I go there) if I can request him for a swap as the watch has been bought from an AD albeit a different one. Will he be willing to do it in your opinion if the watch was not bought from him? If not then would he sell it to me ? Any idea what the price is - tried googling it before posing the question but got could not discern what was selling was real or replica. The thoughts and advice of fellow members would be appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It doesn't hurt to try but in the event he can not swap just buy the new size needed and sell your extra one.

I bought a OF set from an AD a couple of years ago now. My recollection may be off on this, but I seem to recall the set being $600-$650, something like that. They are, or were, sold as individual pieces, so half for half.

Op, OF bands are $700-800 depending on the ADs. I’ve seen them as low as $600 but that was about 2 years ago? Ask the AD you purchased from to order you one, it should 10-14 days wait, if it’s available at the Rolex parts depot.

I’d suggest going back to the AD where you bought it from. It’ll save you some cash, and the hassle of selling, but you’ll have to wait for the stock to replenish.

Good info
Lost a bit of weight recently and when I purchased my daytona OF it came with an E F band that was already on the tightest setting, so was planning to visit the AD this weekend and inquire about purchasing a D band to replace the E, but that is some cost...

Any AD should be able to get you new ones. If you have worn the watch at all I would not expect them to swap at no cost. When I bought a pair in 2019 they were $270 each side, I have heard around $350 now.

I got my single side E from RSC Beverly hills. It was in the mid to high 300s. you can buy it separately without having to by the other half strap

Just curious why the wrist size range mentioned above only mentions a range of 1 cm whereas the glidelock gives a 1.5 cm adjustment? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Unless I'm missing something, you would have two options:
Have the original AD order you one, or See if the other AD has one in stock you could buy. Good luck, |

I bought an OF watch grey, and took it to a local AD where they swapped the straps to the correct size for me for free. They mentioned if they didn't have it, they would order it at no charge as long as it was a swap.

Can appreciate this goes against the grain, but I'd love to buy an OF for my Submariner. I know the easiest thing to do would be to ask, but would an AD entertain selling a strap for a watch it wasn't designed for?

The bigger issue is the inability to buy the end links to make the OF work with your sub. If you find a solution, please let us know as I would be very interested myself.

Saying that, I'd happily go for either method if possible! |

The endlinks on some OF models are attached to the case, they are not part of the case. The Oysterflex strap ends are straight and connected to the lug holes with springbars just like a bracelet would. Oysterflex halves do not have metal ends.

Take care when changing out the straps…..
Also that guide is interesting. I’m using both wrong sizes for my 6.6 I guess. I’ve had multiple OF watches, Ym and Daytona and E both sides is the ticket. (For me!) |

take it back to the AD where you purchased the watch and ask them to order you a new one, assuming the watch is brand new and never worn.
Other ADs can sell/order one for you, but you have to pay full price for it. |

Do you happen to know if this chart shows the sizing for the new 12 series Daytona with the glidelock clasp? I’m trying to figure out my sizing (getting a watch from a grey dealer) and have been using the guide on Bob’s Watches but I’m fairly confident the chart in their site is for the 11 series Daytona. Thanks!

Correct, they attach just like a typical bracelet.

It’s not a great look tbh. The spring bar holes are different position to the ym42 and you don’t have the extra pieces of the Daytona so it just looks odd. Rolex will do it properly sometime. |
