Remember that $9.95 Sub 5510 ??

Well I am please as punch to report it was/IS 100% genuine. Several people thought this gentleman was questionable and I was starting to get mad because I KNOW scams and he wasn't the type. He had the watch since the '50's bought NEW and he's now in his 80's. Here is the latest on this BEAUTIFUL timepiece ...http://www.hodinkee.com/2010/12/19/b...riner-tha.html

Yes it was a great outcome and the watch went to one great guy and friend. Many of us know him and knew the outcome but thanks for sharing. Vijay--you are the man and got one amazing watch for one heck of a price my friend! Good on you and good for Bob!

Great watch. It was at the Dallas Get-Together this year and was a sight to behold.

Great story for those of us who joined since it was last posted. I never get tired of hearing this stuff. It's part of why we all look to find a precious Rolex at a garage sale.

Thank you all for the kind words.

Yes, this was a once in a lifetime experience for me. The stars were all aligned for this to happen. Its a piece that makes me smile every time I look at it.

And yes, I do wear it!……... Spairingly!!!

Hello Vijay. You'll have to bring that back to Dallas again. We're talking about a get-together dinner in January.

Huge Congrats Vijay Definteley a once in a lifetime experience. Watch collecting is more about the people you meet than the watches sometimes!

At less than 70k you got a deal too.....

+1. Great to see it went to somebody who enjoys (and wears) it and not to a trader!
