A nice inheritance ....

Your grandad had great foresight when he picked that watch from the selection on offer.
Not many items that were sold in 1964 still look sharp as a tack in 2012.

Good news on the bracelet front too. A 20mm oyster bracelet will hurt your wallet a lot but a jubilee was also an option in 1964.
Nearly 50 years later, both bracelets can still be found but a jubilee is a truck-load cheaper

Beautiful watch. I love to see someone enjoy an heirloom. How long did he wear it?

Thanks , im very satisfied also, but there is a stain on the dial, the repairman suggest to paint the dial to remove it., but i hesitate coz it would ruin the character of the watch. i just let him cleaned, buff and overhauled , changed the cracked plexy and broken crowned.

I like the way the dial turned out. Nah, don't repaint, embrace the experiences it has to offer. Croc leather would be good, as would other exotics. I recently got a gator for my Zenith 2300, and it turned into a stunner. Your grandfather had good taste!

I absolutely love it. I would find a really nice guilden or snake skin strap (not too bulky) but a thinner leather because the watch is a classic. If you are conservative, get black or brown but if you want to kick it up a notch and really get it noticed get a blood red burgundy or a deep blue or golden tan color. You could also get a few straps and swap them out depending on what you are wearing since it is pretty easy to change them. I do it all the time. I enjoy tinkering with the straps.

PS: There are some amazing straps on TRF for sale in the classified miscelleanous merchandise section.

Very nice! I like the smaller watches that still have 20mm lugs as i can use my Nato straps on them !
Good job on the renovation decisions!
