Blessed

Just thinking back to when I would see people wearing nice watches. I would always admire them from afar. I never thought in a million years that I would be able to actually acquire and own them for myself. I feel truly blessed! Started my collection with my Sub that I got in November 2021. Then the Daytona in April 2023. Followed by the Datejust in May 2023. Finally the GMT in March 2024.
This forum also gave me insight and information regarding these watches and others as well. Even though I do not post too much, I love reading all the posts and looking at all the pictures!

I remember thumbing through Watch Time and seeing all the unattainable watches. Over the years, I made a few happen. Thanks for the post. We are lucky to be able to participate on this hobby. It can get pricey and many of us are guilty (me too) of losing perspective on that.

I remember looking through Rolex brochures when I was in grade school. I wanted the black two-tone sub. But I ended up with the blue one. I too consider myself very lucky.

You have a wonderful collection.

I get your meaning, but think “fortunate” is a better word to describe the feeling of being able to obtain material things. I feel blessed to be healthy, and happy, and mostly to have my family and friends. Watches are cool, though, and you have a great collection.

Really well said. At times I think I’m very fortunate (and I’m always grateful) for the material things that I have, that others in the world may not be able to attain. I never take it for granted, but would 10000% give up those things for health and family. We’re a very fortunate group on this forum I would say.

OP, collection looks stellar!

Man this hits home… im 29 now. And I remember when i was 18-22 i couldnt even dare enter a rolex store. I was too shy to enter one. I was just chilling with my fossil and festina watch. But really got into watches and then said to myself. I need to start my own business and stuff. Forward 5-6 years and ive got a modest beautiful collection.
Great post helps the mind to go back and be grateful. This is an unwinding post a sign to take a mental break and be happy how far you came.

Beautiful collection my friend. Huge congrats. Certainly an accomplishment in life. And you’re right to feel gratitude. It’s a beautiful sentiment.

May I suggest a good safe in your house, though. Don’t tempt fate. I wish someone had told me that before we were broken into. Hopefully nothing will ever happen!

You said it. I would give it all up for health and family. But it is very nice to have in the meantime.

I, too, remember seeing people with nice watches and felt I could never afford my own. But thank the Lord, I have a great collection. Yours is very nice too.

@nanoo, That is what I'd call a perfect Rolex collection. A great place to stop and enjoy what you have!

If they were mine, I'd add a Casio G-Shock GWM5610 for 'dirty' activities. :) But that's it!

Thanks for sharing. Enjoy!!!!!

I completely agree with OP. This forum helped me a LOT with knowledge, and now I can enjoy my own Rolex as a lifetime, milestone watch, something I would never have thought in my youth.
