UK vs US list prices
TRF
headed to UK next week. I was only able to get a price on sub date (126610ln), which is 15% more in UK vs US after currency conversion. £9000 vs $10,250, excluding us sales tax. Are all Rolexes listed at higher prices in UK vs US? Thanks for the consideration. |

UK MSRP includes a 20% purchase tax (VAT).

The British pound is such a strong currency, the USD will never come close.
With the Vat of 20% this would not be a deal by any means. Have great trip! You can always window shop. Cheers |

Because tax can’t be claimed back now for tourists when visiting the UK it would make no sense in purchasing anything from here unless that is you can score something that is out of reach in your own country.

You couldn't get a new one at list anyway, would grey work for you?

I don't think that over the years we have found the US to be any cheaper than the UK.

We are taxed on everything here. Work hard, pay 45 per cent on earnings over £125k. Have a car? Pay 500 road tax for the privilege and pay 2.40 per gallon for the fuel on top of its purchase price. Buy a million pound house , pay 40k stamp duty Die and leave your assets to your family? Think again you will owe half the estate to the taxman. Uk tax is in need of a massive rethink. And it’s going to get worse before it gets better under labour! Probably don’t buy a new Rolex here although used can be ok depending where you look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Only £500 VED? Some of you are getting off light! I pay around £1.60 per litre for fuel which equates to north of £7 for a gallon, which is taxed three times: you pay income tax before you have the disposable net income to buy fuel, you pay fuel duty when you gas up, and VAT gets added to the total. This is more by way of a statement than a complaint. I wouldn't do it if I couldn't afford it but I sure wish it cost less. I can remember my dad vowing he'd give up driving if petrol ever hit 50p a gallon (it did and he didn't).... happy memories. |

Yep! UK is screwed. FUBAR to be sure. Back to the question in the thread: OP you’re unlikely to find any Rolex bargains here in the UK just as I was unable to find any in SoCal last time I visited (my Son lives out there) So have a fabulous visit to our small, massively overpopulated little island, and thank your lucky stars you can go back home soon after Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Only ballpark figures for our US friends to understand, Haz. But yep uk is in all kinds of financial trouble again. Makes me shudder to think about my pension etc once KS has finished. But regarding the original question there are some great used watch dealers in the uk and I hope the OP has some success. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
