Seeking advice on next purchase Carbotech vs Ceramic
I've got my eye on two different models including the Luminor Marina Carbotech PAM 661 and the Luminor 1950 3 Days GMT Ceramic PAM 1441. I'm curious to hear Pros and Cons of the Carbotech vs Ceramic cases. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

I wanted a carbotech at first and for no other reason than just loving the esthetic of the ceramic I went with that. I still am intrigued by the carbotech though. I went with a 10 day movement in the 335.

Beautiful! Love it I’ve heard carbotech is excellent and very tough. Ceramic is probably cheaper. I’ve only had ceramic and was very happy with it as I have been with every panerai. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have both ceramic and carbotech watches and both have advantages and disadvantages.
Ceramic = scratch resistance better but can shatter if you drop it on a tile also slightly heavier but nice heft. Carbon = feels nice to touch , strong and durable but can get scratches or dents wont shatter. That said Panerai carbon is one of the best , much better than any forged carbon be it AP or Hublot.

1441 owner here.. it was a watch i lusted after for much time.. its one of my favorite PAMs to wear... somewhat stealth (being all black/black) with the beige numbers... its great on wrist. for sure and looks great after all this time... the Ceramic is sharp so be cautious! i actually scratched my windshield wiping my dash!! its the real deall... |

I’ve got both, and to be honest they both have been great and look brand new after years of use. You really can’t go wrong. The look, feel, and weight are a bit different. Best to try them out if you can.

I would go for the carbotech, the unique laminated pattern on the bezel and case is more appealing visually than the ceramic look.
