I had the Wimbledon dial. Loved it but eventually got rid of it because the lack of lume really bothered me.

Excuse my terrible ignorance, but what is Wimbledon about it? It’s not even green. Is this another stupid nickname again?

Nice watch regardless, I really like that.

Rolex Datejust Wimbledon, my new toy

Would this watch also be classed as a ‘Wimbledon’ model?

Rodger Federer lifted the Wimbledon trophy wearing this in 2009, after he defeated Andy Roddick - he also broke Pere Sampras’ all time grand slam record.

I am really into this watch, although probably on a jubilee, but it doesn't fit into my collection. All my watches have to have a distinct look or activity so I always know which one I should be wearing.

My own crazy rules stop me from buying it and it makes me sad. I have tried to ignore the rules before though and it always kicks off a long period of unsettled flippage until my collection ends up obeying my rules again.

Does it come on a jubilee option?

Well the DJ2 option didn't.

But I am pretty sure you can get a DJ41 with this dial every which way:

Oyster bracelet - steel with smooth bezel
Oyster bracelet - steel with white gold fluted bezel
Oyster bracelet - yellow gold and steel with fluted bezel
