Difference between 5402 A-series original dial vs. service dial?

Hi! Can anyone tell me how to distinguish between an original A-series 5402 dial and a service dial? Thanks!

Ok thanks. That's the only difference?

Of course, the original dials have the AP logo at 6, but not sure if service dials with logo at 6 also exist.

Yes, service dials with logo at 6 exist as well.
On an A series things you should check:

dial should say "Swiss" only
bottom AP logo
clasp should say "Audemars Piguet", not "AP"
crown should be blank, not engraved with "AP"

Agree with the above statements.
My opinion on the clasp is a little different.

I have seen a lot of a series with a clasp with „AP“. Including mine :-)

Don‘t think this is a sign for a service bracelet.

Would you guys rather have an A-series with a service dial, or a regular clean C-series?

As long as the logo is at 6, would go for A series w service dial. Feels special having an A series, even with service dial imo. I have a 5402 A series w original dial and a 3700 with service dial. I love them both!

A series with service dial if the price is significantly lower. If you're looking at the one on chrono24 at 32k €, I'd pass. Movement has been replaced in 1991, sold through Sotheby's last year in May. Too many issues.

Concerning the "AP" clasp, definately correct for the 5402 series but "AP" clasp has been used in the later series, not in the A series to my knowledge.

Wasn't thinking of that one, but there are some seemingly nice ones on the market. Material Good has what appears to be a nice one for $70k. A couple of others on Chrono too.

What about B, C, D series do they also have only Swiss? Or Swiss Made?

The main difference is Swiss vs. Swiss Made. Sometimes, you will also see the modern "Audemars Piguet" font, vs the older one.
