A sign of new models?

AP's site seems to have had a little 'tweak' or two today.

My browser sits open with their 'current' watches, which has been at 222 for the longest time. This morning, that dropped to 209, I couldn't tell what was missing. Now it's back to 221.

Every time I've noticed this in the past it has been a precursor to new models appearing.

So, heads up...or maybe I'm just wrong, it happens occasionally!

As if by magic, the number is now back to 222!

Stephen, I spoke to AP a couple of weeks back and they were tight lipped...but arm twisting in person is way better, so twist hard!

kimwizzzuuu, if you say so, that's good enough for me. New releases due imminently then!

Reign posted this back in March, the source being Stefanie Ng from AP SEA.

We are due several releases from July, and then more later in the year.

So now we have only 108 models showing and the whole RO range has disappeared, a pretty good indication that AP are playing with the RO line up, thus expect some new ROs. Fun times.

Man @GS93108 but what if they're just teasing you, and specifically you! I jest in kindness of course. I bet your sleuthing is right on and share your excitement.

I just happened to hit refresh on the page and it was obvious the ROs had gone.

Maybe it’s just ‘maintenance’ but I’m an optimist and hope it’s preparation for new toys.

But I do like my elevated status to be someone for AP to mess with, maybe it’s FHB himself :)

247 watches now. Most openworked pic's are gone, but there's a bunch of LE's from the looks of it. Hard to get excited about a 25 piece LE, but someone will enjoy them or is enjoying them - some (all?) of the LE's that popped up have been around for a while. It's chaos out there.

Some new dial colours on ROs and some new QP's. There's a rainbow bezel and diamond bezel QP too.

I can only instantly recognise 10 new ones, but the total watch count has gone from 222 to 247, so there are 25 in total. If Stefanie Ng's estimate of 60 new releases this year is correct we only have another 10 or so left, two of which are definitely new ceramic models.

New platinum PQ and lots more PQ's with diamonds? Also LE Titanium PQ? Unless I just didn't know it was there before?

So far, from what I see (since AP apparently is still struggling with how to run a website), this is just confirmation that it’s time to move on from this brand.

Some of these are gorgeous watches…Nothing “innovative” but just really cool iterations of proven hits.

But, what’s the point of these? It’s basically “here is a bunch of new unobtanium watches that are not for you”.

This brand is becoming a dichotomy:

Star Athlete/Movie Star/IG Mogul: Here are some cool watches…take your pick!!

Everybody Else: Buy a Code. Or maybe an Offshore if you can find one.

At some point, it’s time to face the facts and jet. I don’t see the point of continuing to lie to myself that I’m ever going to get what I really want.

End of Rant :-)

Looks like a big upload of regional exclusives so more of a website update than new releases.

This was more of a chill year for the RO anyway in anticipation for the 50th next year anyway (with a few ROs trickling out here and there)

Didn't you buy a Code last year

I'm going to hang in there for a while longer, to see where exactly my place in the food chain is. Still holding out hope for a 15407

Indeed.

I think we've seen most of what we are going to see and the 60 new models for the year includes these regional specials. So, at best we've got maybe a handful of new new releases and a couple of specials left to be revealed.

Stand down, excitement over...

LOL yes, I did. I bought the Code firstly because I like it (I still maintain its a great work/casual watch), but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I also felt that it helped me to build a stronger relationship with AP. I’m man enough to admit that.

That was 8 months ago and as odd as it sounds, that was eons ago. I feel a lot has changed and much more is truly unobtainable and even though I did it, I don’t believe others should have to buy a Code if they don’t want it. And to pile on AP releases more and more watches that 99.99% of us have literally zero chance at.

Anyway, first world problems. I’m just having a rant. I’m not throwing away where I’ve gotten. But I should probably turn my focus to IG to see these new models on Kevin Hart’s wrist…that’s gonna be as close as I get to any of them :-)
