Disapearing Threads

Why do some threads just disappear? There was one thread I was posting in yesterday (don't remember the title of the thread but was in Rolex General) and now it is gone. Not moved, not locked, just gone. I try to search via my user name and it doesn't even find my posts from that thread. This isn't the first time either. Why/how does this happen?

Only threads that are spam or from scammers are deleted, why else would a thread be deleted?

That's exactly why I posted this thread. The thread that was deleted was "David SW Gold DS". Didn't see where it had anything to do with spam or scammers, but maybe I missed something. Not sure why you are asking me as I have no clue hence the reason for my original question.

Contentious threads, potential libelous threads, or threads that have gotten so out of control that it would take hours to weed out the mess may also be awaiting further investigation.

IMHO, many are worth disappearing in the spirit of TRF's friendly precepts.

Such good judgement is appreciated.

I posted a thread about how this site has been intermittently dead (as verified by isitdownrightnow.com), I have been unable to login and that thread was deleted.

We do not discuss forum security on here.
You seem to have got access to make this post!

Noticed the same and responded urging members to keep up best practices when it comes to securing their accounts.

Nobody has to go into detail with regard to specific forum security protocols - that’s understood.
But security (generally speaking) is something that should be talked about imo.

If the site was verified dead via
isitdownrightnow.com
that has nothing to do with forum security, per se, does it?

Your site has been kaput intermittently to the world lately. I'd think that would be of interest for you to know. It could mean that you are under attack.

The forum is up and has been working perfectly for over a week now so no need to concern yourself further!
isitdownrightnow is not reliable as a true and accurate indicator and I dispute their results.
