New Income - 1 have to leave

Got a call from my AD for a 36mm Black Datejust with Jubilee.

I loved the fit and pulled the trigger. 😊

I have in my collection a Sub no date 124260 and an explorer 36 124270, unfortunately one have to leave.

What you guys think will make the best pair with the Datejust.

Cheers !!!

Congrats on the beautiful DJ

As for which watch to ditch, this is an easy choice if it were me. Keep the Sub and get rid of the EXP. You now have a much more appealing 36mm watch

New Income - 1 have to leave

I’d prefer to keep all 3 but if must release 1, my choice would be to ditch the explorer.

This is probably the easiest one of these I've ever seen. I'd keep the sub.

Big Explorer (and 36mm) fan. Sub is nice but too big for my taste. Keep the Explorer.

100% keep the sub. The explorer is great but you gotta have one rotating bezel!

By the way, my vote for keeping Explorer goes double if you ever think you might switch DJ dial color to light.

I would keep the Sub. Since you are keeping the DateJust, the explorer is the most similar.

Well, obviously the most versatiile pair would be a Sub and a DJ, but a Sub and an Explorer make an equally versatile pair.

The Jubilee bracelet is the deciding factor and makes the best case for a partner for the Sub, though.

Jubilee bracelets are not nearly as appreciated as they deserve.

Personally, I'd keep all three and find something else to get rid of or do without.

Keep them all and sell the 2001 digital camera that took that photo.

Just kidding. Keep the Sub, and congrats on the DJ!

I'd generally say keep the Submariner for variety, but your wrist looks right for that 36mm DJ. Does the Sub fit you?

Based on your wrist size, keep the Explorer.

I'd always keep a Sub, unless I had more than one Sub. What you do is entirely up to you. I can't tell you what you like.

Congrats! I have the same DJ but with the fluted bezel. Enjoy!
I would definitely keep the sub!

Between Sub and Explorer (124 only as the 114 is a terrible watch IMO), I am keeping Sub. Not even a debate. But between Explorer and smooth DJ, I am keeping Explorer all day every day.

You went against the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” cliche and put yourself in a tough position. The DJ is new to you, so understandably more appealing. Long run, the Explorer is the better choice here. If you had flutted with jubilee, maybe. But the smooth datejust is way less special IMO.

On other hand, you have a date in your two watch collection, so I can get behind that. Otherwise, enjoy the DJ until you need the $ and let it go.
