Calling 16520 Experts!!

Hi all - I have scoured the site and others trying to find the answer to my question. With no definitive success, I turn to the trusty community.

On the black dials, do the sub-dials contain tritium lume? Some of them have now turned creamy, some more than others....

OR, is the lume just in the minute markers and hands, and the change in the sub-dials is just the way they were manufactured?

I understand Swiss Made denotes Luminova and I'm not referencing the Patrizzi dials - I know that's a whole other thing (that is out of my tax bracket!).

Thanks for all the help everyone. Really appreciate it.

There is no tritium on the subdials. It is just patina, age that changes the color, texture etc.

It’s the paint on the subdidls that changes cream/tan/brown over time

Another later model granted, but the earlier thin hand 116520 versions the paint/lacquer turns a bronze colour, whereas the later fat hand stay mainly silver hue I've found. You either like it or you don't....

1. As noted above, the subdials do not contain any lume - only minute and hour hand + hour markers.

2. Swiss made dials indicate superluminova, not luminova - Luminova is indicated by “Swiss” only dials.
