Skydweller vs DJ 41

Currently own a DJ41 and have considered moving it for a Skydweller on jubilee. The DJ sits really flat and I like that the SkyD sits higher. Any feedback from others that have owned both or currently own both?

I think it is a great move going from the DJ41 to the SkyD. I did the same and never looked back. If you have larger wrists and hands, the SkyD to me is the perfect Datejust. I traded in my DJ41 for the SkyD (plus cash obviously) and love how it sits on the wrist. It feels substantial, which I like.

I could easily keep one and only and it would be my SkyD

Joli, see you have it in Rose gold. I am not sure if I want TT or SS. If I did TT, I like both the champagne and white dial. If SS I like the White dial. I know everyone fawns over the blue dial but I already have a 12 bluesy and Blue dial YM.

A Milgauss fulfilled all my OP requirements with one unique acquisition. Likewise, my love of the Sky Dweller means I don't need a DJ. That the former can be mistaken for the latter is an added bonus for me.

There is no wrong choice, personally I love TT especially with the black dial but a SkyD on Jubilee is a real piece of art and hard to ignore.
Nice dilemma to have and it’s always fun fun finding the right configuration for yourself.
Happy hunting

Own both. DJ41 is more comfortable on a wrist slightly larger than 7".

SkyD complications are arguably Rolex's finest, so if I had to own 1 it would be a SkyD.

Just make sure you have a large enough wrist to carry it off. I’ve looked at a lot of pics on here, where the Skydweller overpowered the wrist, and it wasn’t pretty! Lovely watch, though. I got to see it, IRL,In blue, on Jubilee, at my AD.

I have traded off any and all DJ41s I have owned. Never really a problem with fitment just once I tried in a SkyD I was hooked. Currently own two, a blue and a white dial TT. Same basic vibe to the untrained, but miles more awesome with the 2nd time zone, month indicator, and the ring command. FTR, my wrist is a hair under 7.5”

Once I got my SkyD, the DJ’s quickly became obsolete.

the Sky-Dweller is alot bulkier and thicker than the DJ41, the DJ41 wears much more comfortably

FWIW the owner of my local AD was wearing a black Sky Dweller on jubilee when I picked up my Daytona today. It looked stunning.

I have DJ blue on jubilee and I’m thinking of trading up to the SkyD White on Oyster. I live in the NYC area and feel the jubilee is too blingy with the current crime. Want to be under the radar, and love the complication on SkyD.

The bling difference is nominal especially with a fluted bezel.

⬆️⬆️⬆️ this for sure. If you love the way the SkD looks and feels…I’d do it. The SkD is just a bit “more special” IMO.
I’ve had both, currently have the DJ.

As long as you have the wrist for it I think it makes a ton of sense. Very similar watch with so many more interesting complications. But I think the wearing experience will be a bit different than the DJ.

The Blue SS Sky Dweller is such a magnificent piece. There's a reason it is one of the most difficult pieces to obtain.

More wrist shots needed! Hang on! ;)

Funny that my thread was revived. I actually moved my DJ and bought a DD40 instead. Always intrigued by the SkyD though.

I absolutely adore the Sky-Dweller but for my 6.5 inch wrists it is far too bulky. I do hope in future they'll be able to scale it down a little. If you have a big enough wrist go for it.

I had my blue SkyD for 5 years and adored it. I bought a Platona and it lot its wrist time as a go to blue dial. Ill one day reacquire one but now i have the green dial which i love as well. Honestly the blue dial is nicer to me but i have too many blue dials
