The SBGW314 “Hoshizukiyo” is pretty nice. But that price...

I am mostly happy to see the new manual wind calibre. As for actual watches, meh.

I think that SLGW003 is quite stunning. Excellent case dimensions, beautiful case back and fabulous movement. A contender for my next watch. Another plus: I'm glad they didn't bother to put a bracelet on this watch, left it on strap, saves me from having to take off the bracelet immediately.

I don't understand what GS's strategy is the last couple years. All I seem to see from them are slightly different versions of watches that they already sell. A new dial here, and different color bezel there. I haven't seen a release from them that truly interested me since the steel bezel GMT watches over three years ago. Any the prices are nuts too. Their sports lineup needs a serious course correction or they are going to drift into obscurity in the U.S. and Europe.

The prices are outrageous, except for the regular high beat GMT model they released.

Also, that red chronograph. It's....just....plain....ugly. I thought GS was making more reasonable looking chronos given the Tentagraph, but the red dial....just awful in my opinion. The dial layout is awkward as well.

Let's get off the green tea colors.

And the "birch" dial variants are starting to get a Tudor Black Bay vibe (everything is a damn Black Bay.....and the Birch motif is getting dangerously close to saturation).

I feel the same way.
It's absolutely beautiful.
But if i were spending that much money i might be inclined to go across to something very special in Credor in Rose gold. Eichi II comes to mind.
Anyway, it's not like i'll ever get my hands on one of the 50 in this lifetime so i'll stay happy with my SBGW253.

The spring drive chronograph is ok. Just wish they’d put the PR indicator on the back and centre the GS logo.

The Seiko GS SBGC00x series & SBGB00x series comes to mind.

Those were really nice except for the screw down pushers. I really hate those.

That strategy works pretty well for Rolex.

I like some of the releases and agree we the others about GS using the same dials in different colours with different names. In fact I started a thread about that a while ago on another forum. This bothered me. GS makes fabulous watches. Since we hold Rolex as the standard IMO much better and nicer than Rolex. Very accurate and consistent time keepers. I never had one run on the minus side. Seems to be normal now for Rolex too. And I have and have had many of both brands. You just have to find the GS you like and enjoy. And not be concerned with the variants .

I would like to see GS come out with a different style dive watch. In steel.

As the W&W dust has settled, I agree with you: the SLGW003 is a great overall package, from dial to case to movement. It oozes quality and sophistication, IMHO. While I’m not sure it’s “beautiful”, it’s definitely impressive.

They're great releases as a template. Hope to see more dial options (I'm sure there will be) down the road as the Birch doesn't do it for me.
