YG Oysterflex Daytona Availability

I have always been interested in YG Daytona on OF especially the golden dial with black subdials. I went to my AD to register interest she has the WG version exhibition model tried it on and was blown away really beautiful but still want the YG. For owners can you speak to wait times/availability. I have only bought one watch 36 mm DJ from the AD. Also if anyone can share some pics of YG model that would be awesome.

Thanks

-JT

It’s a tough watch to acquire, and maybe the toughest of the OF Daytonas. It’s right there with the WG version as the two most popular.

Impossible to give a timeline due to a multitude of variables, but it’s a long wait unless you have a strong purchase history and/or good relationship with the store manager.

That said, some people get lucky.

Any of the daytonas are hard to acquire. I'd put them behind the SS daytonas in terms of how hard to get though. My AD basically told me those watches need approval from higher up management also, similar to the SS daytonas.

Still waiting

Still waiting for mine. I've been on the interest list since spring. Purchased 3 other rolex from the boutique.

I purchased the RG variant in February of this year from my AD after a four month wait. Note that I have a good relationship with my AD. I believe it's right behind the YG and WG version as far as popularity goes.

This is my grail! I’d have preferred it with Chocolate dial but they stopped making that. Maybe by the time I’m ready they’ll reintroduce it.

BUT….loooove your watch! Gorgeous!

I was lucky enough to acquire the 11 reference in August last year from AD, seen next to the current 12 reference.

For me, it took around a year to get be offered the “Pikachu” with a number of other variants offered to me.

I found it easier to get the Steel Daytona recently. But all down to luck and continually reminding your AD. Good luck!

4 weeks for me to get mine, but it’s not one of the more popular dials. Previous purchase was only a 126334 blue dial so I think I had some luck on my side. Love this watch!

It’s not an easy piece to acquire and supposedly one of the more sought after configurations. Wait time and availability are unique to everyone’s situation and their AD.
I’d say visit your AD from time to time so they remain aware you are interested in the piece and maybe you will get lucky.
I hope you get it. It’s a beautiful piece.

All Daytona’s are very hard to get, that 1 is one of the hardest in opinion, up there with the Panda . I’ve been trying for any of light color dials with black sub dials, WG, YG, RG. On OF. and nothing has come my way. Some get lucky and get them in a few months, depends on the size of the AD and your particular market demand..

A good spend history does not hurt or a great relationship with the AD.

Keep at it and you will have yours as annoying as it seems for such an expensive piece.

Best of luck

Looks amazing IMO. Seems more legible than some Daytona’s.

The way the light catches the markers and sub-dials really makes it pop. Definitely better legibility with the contrast of a black dial.

I was fortunate to get the first “Pikachu” dial that came in to my AD but I have a very good relationship at my AD though and a decent purchase history.

Not to be a downer but I don’t think 1 DJ is enough to get allocated that particular dial. If I had to guess you may get offered an OF Daytona at some point but it’s unlikely to be the dial you want.

I have the yellow gold but not the full black subdials - I was lucky to get the black ring subsials with yellow gold inside the subdials - a new release.

I realise this is not the one you want though, but will give you an idea of timeframes for me.

That took about 10 months from my white gold OF. The white gold OF with black subdials took 12 months from my steel white face 116500.

Below pictures when it was new (before the sticker police complains). 🙈

I have the WG on Oysterflex and the wait time was in the vicinity of 3 months.

PN was second purchase at this AD.

This one was first and only purchase at remote AD in Florida.

This one was first purchase at remote AD in NCR.

I also have 126515 bright black with sundust sub-dials but no good pics of that one. Got this one after eight (8) Rolex purchases at my home AD.

It’s the most in demand dial at the moment and ADs don’t get many with this dial configuration. So your wait will vary. It’s my favorite daily wearer now. I know other dials are much easier to acquire or in different shades of gold. But compared to the ghost this one just has way more pop.

I don’t see hardly any incomings in this exact configuration. Lots of other dials but this one is a unicorn. For me it’s a modern take on the 6263 which I love.

Good luck and hope to see in incoming soon!

Great looking watch. I actually prefer this one over the PN. And I’m a sucker for full sundials over the rings.
