Daytona running hours faster

Hey Guys,

My Rolex Daytona (2022 model I believe maybe 2021 I honestly forgot ) was running hours faster than the actual time. I just have two questions has anyone else ever experienced this? it was not magnetized. Question two : it’s been sent off to Rolex under the warranty and it’s been 7 weeks, does anyone know how long a warranty will take with Rolex? I miss my watch! Thank you so much for your responses in advance :)

Normally it takes about 8 weeks or so. I sent my Milgauss out last year I got it back in about 2 months

I had issues with my 2020 Daytona one year after purchase as well. It wouldn't stay wound. Took about 8 weeks to get back. Has been working fine ever since and more accurate than when it was new.

Regarding your first question, no, I can't say it's a common thing for Rolex to run hours fast. Second and minutes, yes, but hours!?

Great news, I hope it will be the same in my case. It was working great for the first 6 months and then it wasn’t. Hopefully it won’t have this problem ever again!

Yes it was the most oddest thing hours faster HOURS! I’ve never had any issues with my other watches hopefully the issue will be resolved!

How are you measuring this?

Over what time period does the watch gain hours? Does it gain hours per day, per week or per month?

In over 50 years of owning and wearing Rolex watches plus over 15 years on this forum plus others, never ever heard of, or seen posted that any Rolex watch was like you state running hours faster than actual time,unless a huge impact shock that might have got hairspring tangled.

Did you accidentally hit it on something? That sounds like impact damage.

I was going to say it sounds like it’s taken a knock maybe without you realising. I smashed an Explorer II a few years back and it came back like new, so wouldn’t worry too much.

This happened to me one time and noticed it just after flying from NY to LA.

Hours fast is so fast you should be able visually to see this with some short term timing.

That happened to my Omega 300m once. I set the date/time, only wound the crown enough to get the seconds hand moving, put the watch on, drove about an hour, and the watch was fast by (going off memory) four or six hours. I don't do that anymore and give the crown a good 20+ turns, hasn't happened again.

If it happened to be faster by 12 hours consistently, then I say don’t bother to fix it

I think it's good to keep a demagnetizer on hand if something like this occurs, but hours faster? I have not seen that myself.

If you did not magnetize it, it could just be some oil or gunk stuck in the hairspring.

Hear me out, but all you need to do is give it a proper smack on the left side of the case to get things running smoothly again. Just be gentle and careful of course.

I sent my 16570 in for service at RSC Dallas 4 weeks ago and I still haven’t gotten an estimate for the service. I was told 8-16 weeks.

Hi Alena, hope you get the watch back soon. I just got mine back from full service which took about 5 weeks, but my AD has an inhouse RCS. If yours is sent to Switserland for service is can take up to 2-3 months i believe.

Your watch should run fine again after service btw.

Common problem on Daytonas from circa 2019-2021. They used a new shaped breguet curve, same as on 9001 skydweller, and it can get tangled. There's a hotfix for it, but its ashame it should take 8 weeks... its a 45 monute job.
