Platinum full bracelet watches - options under $100k
Was talking to a few watch friends and this topic came up. Few of us have this as a hole in the collections.
Aside from rolex daydate, are there any options? Let just say MSRP under 100k. |

It might be a long search for a preowned piece, but the Gen I platinum Lange Datograph could be had on a platinum bracelet (I think I've seen two different bracelet variations).
To me, that is an ultimate piece on a platinum bracelet. The Platona is pretty great, but I could never tolerate the flashiness (on my own wrist). |

Well the bracelet and watch are under 100…but not together. This “hack” unfortunately I don’t do anymore as I worry about the SS bracelet’s hardness relative to the PT lugs marking the inner lugs. It didn’t but I didn’t wear it too long… but I absolutely loved the Lange Dato on bracelet! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

A quick search on Chrono24 yields these options (besides Rolex and Omega):
AP: https://www.chrono24.fi/audemarspigu...id22177477.htm Parmigiani Fleurier: https://www.chrono24.fi/parmigianifl...id32645382.htm Franck Muller: https://www.chrono24.fi/franckmuller...id27361160.htm Breguet: https://www.chrono24.fi/breguet/breg...id26393781.htm Ulysse Nardin: https://www.chrono24.fi/ulyssenardin...id32194041.htm Rolex is clearly the "way to go" if looking for a more mainstream platinum watch (if such thing exists). |

Lange 151.035 would do and some regular Lange 1 Darth 101.035 were equipped with Wellendorff bracelets if I am not mistaken. Not sure about secondary prices though.
AP Jumbo green in platinum was just above 100k MSRP, actually both 15202 and 16202, but not sure if they are still making the 16202 in platinum with the 50th anniversary in the rear view mirror. |

What seems crazy, is that Rolex, by far has the lowest priced platinum bracelet watches.
With the price of some 36mm DD's under $30k. |

By the way, the easiest way to search is to go on Chrono24 and use the filters.
Select "platinum bracelet". |

Out of these I have to say with the prices the day date from rolex seem to be the safest and reliable choice |

The Parmigiani is both understated and “modern”.

http://tinyurl.com/38xd7r9z Based on this: https://www.chrono24.com/search/inde...2023&year=2024 will select the price range, the case size, the case and bracelet material, sort order, and the year the watch was made. You can add/remove any or all filter simply by "select it" on C24 and change it. |

Fp journe linesport Platinum with a full Platinum bracelet used to be in the low 90s. My guess is the watch is a little bit over 100 at this point.
The watch is absolutely stunning in person but it weighs like a brick Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk |

Looks super bad but again, like with all Journe models, you either like his design style or you don't. I'm the latter.

Now I recall seeing this and had it on hand. It's like one of the heaviest watches I have ever seen.

Options are limited. Here's a now-discontinued Langematik Perpetual on a bracelet that's pretty nice. It weighs less than the Rolex DD40 probably because the Lange has a sapphire (lighter) caseback -- a movement you'd actually want to see.
I am increasingly a fan putting platinum watches on steel bracelets when no platinum bracelet is available. I can share pics if that's of interest. |

A platinum watch on a platinum bracelet is a sublime experience on the wrist. I tried on a Platona before the madness and, in retrospect, I should have bought it, as an AD offered it to me for $50k. Instead, I opted for a platinum VC Cornes de Vache, which is more my style and that I like better. Still, I think a lot about the new Platona.

True, and the platinum CDV is definitely one of my favorites that will never leave my collection. Monetary matters aside, I'm actually glad I didn't purchase the Platona, because I like the new version with the refined dial, encased bezel, and display back better. If one was ever offered to me at retail, I'd be sure to purchase it. Maybe we'll get back to those days with Rolex again.

This may be a long shot, but I’m super close to pulling the trigger on a Seamaster 300 heritage platinum (the same one you posted about years ago), and you’re quite possibly the only other person on the internet (I can find) who has one. Is there any chance at all that I could possibly ask you a few questions about it? I’m terrified to buy it without getting an honest owner’s opinion, and the watch is way too far away for me to see in the metal... |
