Bracelet Question

I have a model 16220 SS DJ, T Series(1997) with a jubilee bracelet. It has the famous "Rolex stretch" in the bracelet.

I was pondering the idea of replacing/servicing the bracelet.
I think that the new Jubilee bracelets with the hidden clasp is just fantastic.

Does anyone know for certain if the new style bracelet with the SEL will fit a '97 DJ. It is the same 20mm between the lugs, correct? Has anyone done this or looked into it? What results did you find?

Everything I've read states the new style jubilees will NOT work with the old style DJ. Sure wish they did. Although it would be tough to get one from Rolex USA.

Submadatejust sent his Jubilee bracelet to Hong Kong and had it rebuilt. I can't find the pictures of the bracelet only, but this post shows it on his watch after it was redone. You might want to PM him re details and cost:

Larry,

I can't help you out with your question about changing the bracelet, but I do love that DJ with the white dial and the Roman numerals.

I do not think a Authorized Rolex Service Site will allow you to make a change such as that. They usually want to keep them original as the date it was made.

Hi Larry,

I think our friend, Ed (Rockrolex) was keen on fixing the new Jubilee to his older DJ. Don't think it worked....but you could PM him and ask him.

Cheers - JJ
