Icon20 Daytona Rolesor 126503

Hi - would like advice please. AD could potentially source the white dial dual tone Daytona in the next 2-3 months. Is it worth buying. Thanks

Only if you want to own and wear it, myself not a huge fan of any modern day Daytona but prefer the TT mainly because of the many different dial options.

Thanks folks for the reply. I like it but my preference would be the 126500, can’t get it from AD.

Do you have a spare £17k+ for a watch you don't like?

That is how you need to look at this, if you're not 100% certain that the watch is for you then move on.

I have just picked up a TT Sea Dweller, it is awesome, I love it, I had balked at TT watches for a few years but tried the TTSD on and just fell in love.

But, if you're not a TT fan or you are buying this to get entry into the secret society of Rolex Steel watch ownership then don't buy it, your AD is dangling a carrot (a golden one) to see if you bite.

Only buy if you like the watch and are happy to wear it out, see the scratches appear and not worry about them.

I too purchased a TT white dial Daytona thinking it would scratch my itch in place of a white dial SS Daytona. I had always considered a white dial SS Daytona as my grail. Unfortunately, the TT Daytona didn't scratch my itch. And I love TT watches, as I have 3 others. But the gold bezel is just a scratch magnet not to mention the PCL's. What I really wanted was a Daytona with a ceramic bezel as I just love this look on the Daytona.

My AD suggested I take a look at a PM Daytona on OF. I didn't think I could afford it but in reality it is not much more than the TT Daytona in the overall scheme of things. Well, this past February my AD was able to get me this RG Sundust dial Daytona which I am in love with. By far my favorite watch in my collection. And this Daytona did scratch my itch, as I no longer desire a SS Daytona and I now consider this Daytona my grail.

The TT is the purer model than the ceramic shod 500's.

If you dislike YG, then ignore my comment: I'd buy it if the AD can truly get it.

If you like it, why not?
It’s a stellar looking watch.

Get it only if you really like it, otherwise pass and let the AD know that you are willing to wait? Either way buy what you love, although the TT is quite nice.

Cheers,

would rather just pay the extra premium and get the 126500 from a grey dealer if that's what you actually want. the 503 is too expensive of a compromise relative to the grey price of a 500

Like others have said if the SS model is what you want the tutone will just be an expensive placeholder. Historically they have always lost value except for the last few years so you really need to like it.

I love my 11 series white dial. I’ve not experienced scratch issues with my bezel, but I’m not rough on my watches. While I’m a fan of ceramic bezels, I like metal or ceramic bezels on the Daytona. I grew up with the metal bezel and still like it on the SS or TT Daytona.

Regardless, only buy what you like.
