A few of my favorities

There's just something special about vintage. The look, the history, these were the watches that gave Rolex It's special heritage.

As a collector, I've centered my efforts on the sports models I grew up with, indeed a few of my watches I really did "grow up" with.

For me it's hard to imagine a collection of vintage sport without these references;

The 5513,

Perhaps the iconic vintage diver. Not the most rarest of references, nevertheless the 5513 sets the mark. Possessed of a rich history, both in peace and war, the 5513 represents everything you need in a "tool watch".

MK III maxi, 6.04 mil

The 1680,

The first diver to have a date feature, the 1680 is my favorite vintage diver.

With it's wonderful crystal, the 1680 makes a unique statement, and has always held a special place for me.

Whether RED, III/70 caseback,2.5 mil. non-hack.

or WHITE,5.6 mil.

It's a reference I will never be without.

The 1675,

My first Rolex and my sentamental favorite. This was the reference that started it all for me.

I'm fortunate to have a couple of them, but the wonderful GILT dial of a past era is just to beautiful for words.

I shutter to think how many of these dials were lost at service.

1.3 mil.

Such a special feeling on the wrist.

Nice work Mike. The Red Sub is superb. Also the Non COSC 14060 seems to be calling me.

I completely agree with your feelings Mike!

Vintage Rolex have a very special look, and the pass of time gives them such a warm
touch in the color the luminous markings get, the look of their domed "plastic" instead of cool and flat look of present glass, etc. Their dials also look less cluttered with less text, specially in the 5513 line, and old Daytonas.
I also own brand new Rolex, and like and enjoy them very much. Their accuracy is usually outstanding, as well as their depth rating.
But vintage is so lovely and fun to wear on our wrist!!
Very nice collection, hope you enjoy them very much and in good health!
best cordial regards, Abel
