Too much overlap?
My current collection includes a Submariner date, BLRO and BLNR. I enjoy all three, but it occasionally crosses my mind there’s some overlap between the trio, and I could free up a space for something offering a little more variety.
Sub is a keeper, so if I did mix things up, one of the GMTs would likely make way… |

No overlap as all three are top at what they do.

The GMT's are the same. You could use a chrono.

You need a White dial Daytona. But don’t we all?

In your scenario, i'd keep the BLRO, since it has a completely different colored bezel to the Sub Date, unlike the BLNR.

My approach would be to ask, "Do you wear them all, and do you enjoy wearing them all?"
If you do . . . just keep them. There is no ONE WAY to build a watch collection. One person might love a ton of diversity, another might love nothing more than SS Rolex models with rotating bezels! There is no right or wrong, only "own what you enjoy." |

I didn’t think ‘too much’ was even a thing when it came to watch collecting lol!
Always add, never subtract! Not enough overlap for me - you need to add a VTNR, GRNR & Rootbeer & maybe a Sub LV Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have similar dilemma. But opposite solution. Probably Sub will have to go. Everybody and their mom has a Sub... Doesn't feel special anymore.

Great pieces!
I would change the BLRO Jubilee to Oyster and keep all three. |

I would swap of one of those GMTs towards a white dial ExpII, DJ41 or Panda Daytona. It would be incredibly hard choose between the GMTs. May be just let go of that Sub for the white dial and then bring the Sub back later on

Exactly this. I’d sell the BLNR and lean more toward the DJ or Daytona. The Daytona will be harder to come by, so I’d start with a beautiful brand new mint green DJ41, if I were you. I just tried the mint green 36 fluted on jubilee on today. It’s a stunning piece. Good luck! Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Agree with you. Yes sub is a keeper and for me there is too much overlap. My collection was once very similar and then like you I asked that same question.
There are a lot of options out there.

Definitely an overlap, but they are all different enough to where I would keep all 3! You mentioned that you are enjoying them?.....so there's your answer imo. Keep!
You want something else to offer a little more variety? Sure! I would try to add without letting one go if that's a possibility. Need more space? New watch roll comes to mind. Lol. |

One of the GMTs should go. I personally prefer the BLNR, but either way, having a Sub and a GMT is nice.
You could replace one of the GMTs with literally almost anything to mix things up a bit. I have a Sub, GMT, and a DJ41. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Keep the Pepsi and maybe the sub, better yet, get ride of both and get an RO. RO+Pepsi is the perfect 2 watch collection

Seems that you like the SS GMT Master. It's not difficult to see why. If you like them, keep them. If you like something more you have the means to trade. It's all good.

There was a time when I had exactly the same three watches. After some time I decided that they were all similar, so I exchanged the black Sub for a Hulk, sold the Batman and bought a Daytona Panda. After the change, my iron Rolex collection looks more diverse and has been untouched for over a year and a half.

I could see replacing the BLNR with a Skydweller or ExpII.

For me personally….it'd be too much overlap and I’d look for a Daytona, DD40, or DJ. Maybe a TT DJ or Daytona to really give some variety.

I like what you have but could see trading the BLRO and the BLNR for a PM DD, GMT, Daytona. Two watch collection, one SS, one PM.

I’d sell whichever GMT you like least and add something different. A chronog is the obvious choice to give you the classic land, sea, air collection.

Move out the BLNR. Pickup something else to add variety. Match to your preferences/taste. Daytona, Exp , DJ, DD, etc?

I had an 11 series BLNR, acquired my BLRO a year later. The BLNR was gone three weeks later, I saw no use for two GMTs.
Today I have the BLRO, a Daytona, and several OPs. Some redundancy there but OPs are cheaper and different colors for different moods. |
