Advice on a 4100
Hi all,
I « fell » on this 4100 that I find very appealing. I only own a 15400 so vintage AP is new to me... What to think of its condition? It looks pretty sharp to my eyes. Slight discoloration on the dial too near the center at 8 Any thoughts? Thanks! Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk |

IMO it has been polished at least twice (pretty apparent from the bezel and and case near the lug holes) but overall in decent shape for its age
If you like it and can pick up at a good price, go for it. |

If you want an honest opinion brother, I think that the 4100 is a great watch. This particular one however seems to have been a bit over polished, and it has a significant amount of stretch in the bracelet, which on a RO is quite costly to fix.

u can tell by the uneven spacing of the hex bolts to the edge of the bezel where the brush/polish meet that the polish job wasn’t done as meticulously as it could’ve been.
that said, this model isn’t really a collector’s piece...they can be had at relatively great prices. if u like the watch, don’t worry about the less than spectacular refinishing...just wear/enjoy it! personally, i really dig the reuthenium dial (the petite tapisserie over the grande), the original script and the gold hands+markers. matched against the TT case+bracelet, this is OG genta all the way! |

Thanks for all those comments!
I see everyone is saying it has been polished a little too much! (And thanks for the tip to look for the spacing between the screw and the bezel’s edge, it’s pretty clear!) Price wise, it’s not exactly « given » too as it is a little below 9k€...How much do you think a great example of this ref should be? I’m really liking the vibe it has! Might even consider sacrificing other pieces to get a two-tone jumbo instead if I ever find a great one! Thanks again! Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk |

Advice on a 4100
I also found this one locally in the same price range. It’s a 14790 from 94 though but looks less polished...

Does this one’s polishing seems better? The seller says it was polished once.
I’ll probably go see it Saturday...Is 8,5-9k€ a good value? Thanks! Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk |

From what I can tell that seems about right. The bezel screws are still below the top of the bezel which is good, the case and bracelet look a little soft due to usage most likely + the polish mentioned. The crown also appears to be the original non signed crown. This watch has seen some wear but looks honest. Take a look in person and see how you like it. Find out when it was last serviced and see how it keeps time today.

Thanks! Last service was in february. I need to try the 36mm anyway, compared to my 15400... Does the price seem correct? Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk |

Still looks pretty polished to me. The edges look rounded. Compare it vs the unpolished example someone else just posted above |

Ok thanks!
I had the opportunity to see one in the steel and it sadly is too small for me :/ I guess I’ll have to find a 5402 but the budget is pretty different Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk |
