Am I the only one pausing live tv?

Am I the only one pausing live tv to walk up to screen to look at someone's watch?

Actors in movies or when they are being interviewed? News/sportcasters, athletes? Literally anyone on tv?

And the disapointment when I see an Apple watch instead of a Rolex....might need therapy.

Drives wife nuts.

The only watch I am interested in is the one I have on my own wrist that's the only one that matters to me.

Yes I do this. Last time I did this was just recently while watching the Menendez brothers murders series on Netfilx. It's set in the late 80's/very early 90's and one of the bros. has a Submariner 16610 that he bought during a spending spree after killing his parents.

Of course I'm pausing the screen at every opertunity to see if I can tell if it's a counterfeit costume piece, I cannot confirm that, but I can confirm his watch has no lug holes therefore it cannot be a watch from that era!

The things we WIS's do!

pretty much all watches on tv shows are fakes with one notable exception being entourage because the creator/producer was a huge watch nerd

I do it all the time especially in sporting/racing events where you see the top models on display on wrist. Some look better in real life and others not so much.

I'm guilty of it. The worst thing is when you can't get a good enough look to be 100% sure what watch it is.

Hahaha, you are definitely not alone on this one, OP.

I'm also guilty of this.

My girlfriend even hands me the remote if she sees a nice looking watch in the frame.

Definitely guilty of this myself. It’s the reason I can’t watch James Martin’s cookery programmes here in the UK… rampant jealousy of his extensive Rolex collection.

Yup - I’ve done it. Really annoys me when it’s on my phone and I can’t zoom in enough.

Don’t worry - you are normal. Ish.

I’m pausing all the time. I paused Wolfs the other night to see what George Clooney had on his wrist. It was a modern Speedmaster Pro

The disappointment of seeing an Apple watch instead of a Rolex is real! It's all part of the watch lover's journey. Your wife must have some stories to tell about your watch-spotting adventures!

Do it all the time. Not just for looking at watches, but to blow through the commercials later.

No, hard part for me is getting the timing down since there is a delay and sometimes the watch is only visible for a quick glance

Absolutely!! It’s why I’ve always had fun checking out watches in the wild. Part of the hobby imo…

Ha, I did exactly this on this film for that watch. My wife was less than amused.
