Second(last?) Incoming!
Well, it happened--I switched my one and only Rolex (DJ 36, 126200) for another model! When I bought my DJ last December, it was going to be my one and only Rolex! I really wanted that to happen (promise), but I just could not get over the roman numerals. I absolutely loved the crisp, bright white dial, and to get that in the new reference in a 36mm, romans were the only option. But, the way the indices dressed up the watch, it made is difficult to bond with the piece and I just couldn’t get used to them--I figured at the time of purchase that I would.
I had no idea there was an Oyster Perpetual Date, 34mm, and when I saw one on social media a couple weeks ago, white dial with sticks in a vintage size (I have small wrists, 6.5 inches), I was sold and knew I had to track one down and buy. After some searching, I found a 2021, practically new and still under warranty, OP Date 115200 with the white dial and sticks that I’ve been wanting! Just delivered, resized and put on the wrist and NOW I feel content Lost a bunch of cash in the process. Moral of the story, and it’s a story as old as time, buy a watch that ticks all your boxes, not just a few of them! |
