Another Omega Specialties CK 859 has landed . . .

Excited to finally add the CK 859 to my collection! I made my initial inquiry to the OB one month ago on March 9th:

The height is 11.7mm including the domed sapphire crystal:

Using "modern" technology, the lug-to-lug length is 46mm:

If we look at the engine room, it comes to life thanks to the Omega's Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8926 manual winding movement:

Some of you may be thinking, "Wait a minute. It was unveiled on March 25th. How did you know about this piece before the embargo was lifted?" Luckily, thanks to a "Bahston" watch chat group, a member posted this Instagram photo back on March 9th:

With this photo, obtaining this piece became my obsession. I reached out to a gentleman I know to verify if he had any "intel" on this piece. He thought it was another Beijing Olympic / China-only piece like the Sedna gold piece. I was devastated! After regaining my composure, I decided to go with my gut and reach out to the Omega Boutique to explicitly express my strong desires for this piece and to take my money! They stated they knew nothing about this piece. A few days later there was another Instagram photo:

Then, there was a thread initiated on another forum. With this additional information, my obsession turned to identifying everything from the name, the size specifications, the movement, and the price. I comprised an email with all these details I had obtained and sent it to the OB re-emphasizing that I wanted this piece. The GM was actually traveling to Miami that upcoming weekend to see the novelties. The following Tuesday, March 15th, he sent me a wrist shot along with confirmation that I was on the reservation list. But he stated that they had no ideas on delivery times. With that, I was conservatively anticipating a delivery time between May and June.

On Tuesday, I was surprised, yet thrilled when someone (UK) posted the arrival of their piece on another forum. Approximately two hours later, I received the call from the OB that my piece had arrived! Unfortunately, I was in Kansas City conducting an analysis for a client. As a result, I was not able to take delivery on my piece until late yesterday morning:

One surprising feature is that this piece has an independent setting hour hand. Winding is smooth and nothing but pure pleasure. The sterling silver dial is another surprising feature. It appears white in that first Instagram photo. But, depending on the lighting conditions, the color can vary from an off grey / light tan with hints of green to a subdued white color:

Thanks for coming along on my journey to acquire this gorgeous piece! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Thanks. Does this mean the silver will not tarnish?

Wow that's a beauty! For that style of watch it'd be too big for me, but stunning back and front.

Please don't base your decision on photos. Take the opportunity to try it in the flesh before making your decision. Just leave the credit card behind!

Once you see it in the metal, it's going to be very difficult to walk out without it strapped to your wrist!

Beautiful watch! I absolutely love it.

In one of those Instagram photos you shared, it looks like this is also available with blued hands. Is that correct?
