My first 16520 zenith in black dial "A" serial number. Care tips?
has more charm than my 116500ln panda.
the dial, the bracelet, and its clasp, centered 3-9 patina subdials, and brushed lugs give the watch a more interesting/charming piece. Ownership tips for 16520 welcome! Is it normal for pushers to be harder than the 11 series daytona? |

Congrats.
Note unlike Rolex in house chrono, the zenith movement is not meant to run continuously.

General Care: cleaning: Microfiber cloth: Regularly wipe down the watch case and bracelet with a soft, clean microfiber cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. Avoid harsh chemicals: Never use harsh soaps, detergents, or solvents on the watch as they can damage the materials. Water resistance: While most modern Daytonas are water-resistant, avoid exposing the watch to excessive water or submerging it. Storage: Watch box: Store the watch in its original box or a dedicated watch case to protect it from scratches and dust. Avoid magnetic fields: Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields which can affect its accuracy. Specific Considerations for the 16520: El Primero movement: The Zenith El Primero movement in the 16520 Daytona is renowned for its precision and reliability. Regular servicing: Ensure the watch is serviced by an authorized Rolex or Zenith technician at recommended intervals to maintain optimal performance and accuracy. Bezel and Bracelet: Polished surfaces: The polished surfaces of the bezel and bracelet can be prone to scratches. Handle with care and avoid contact with abrasive materials. Leather strap (if applicable): If your 16520 features a leather strap, clean it with a dedicated leather cleaner and condition it periodically to maintain its appearance. Important Note: Professional care: For any significant repairs or servicing, always consult an authorized Rolex or Zenith service center to ensure the watch's authenticity and proper |

Perhaps. Not so important for auto movement imho. I was speaking to the wear and tear of the zenith movement. The Rolex movement operates slightly different and doesn’t result in certain components wearing as much when the chrono is running. Someone else may be able to give you more technical info.

Make sure it's properly serviced and no is babying needed. It's very durable. Wear it carefree, except for the usual OCD concern about nicks and scratches from doorframes and desks. (Pushers are perhaps a little harder to engage than a modern Daytona). Post some photos of your Daytona. Here's mine. |

At a minimum I'd get it pressure tested. I see you are in Seattle so Nesbit's on 4th could help you. They would do it while you wait for a small fee.

Yes Nesbit is close by! There is also a small chip on the crystal. Would ya'll replace immediately?
Also, there are tiny spots on the gloss dial that can be seen under direct light. You have to really look at it. Anyone else? Good to know this thing is durable! |

Beautiful watch, congrats.
The Rolex Cal 4030 is pretty bullet proof like most Rolex movements. it was dramatically modified compared to the El Primero movement, which ran at 36600 VPH compared to the de-tuned Rolex at 28800 VPH. This reduces the wear on components, as has been mentioned already. The El-Primero movement dates to 1969 & Rolex only adopted it in 1988, so it had had almost 20 years of development before Rolex added their touch. It will be serviced by Rolex SC's for a good few years yet (At Cost), so wear in good health, smile when you look at it & don't worry. As for the Crystal, Rolex would change it in in flash, but again, unless it is cracked right through & would not take a pressure test, take it as character. Mark. |
