Collectibility of 14060
Hello TRFers,
Had a quick question for the experts out there or for those who may have an opinion. A friend of mine offered his 2003 14060 for $4500. It comes with all boxes and papers. Would you consider that a decent deal? Is there anything special about that year's model? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Joe |

The price seems average assuming it doesn't have a recent service. Just my $.02

Be very cautious buying from a friend, who may have bought a good fake and is passing it along. Be very careful.

You can collect anything you want....others, not so sure. That's a pretty garden variety watch.
How satisfied with the condition are you... is your fiend a knowledgeable Watch guy? |

nowadays, its not even a paper anymore just a card. I snagged one recently for a trade. Seller wanted about $4750 but I traded. It was a K serial tho.

Thanks for the advice
Thanks everybody for your advice. I have settled on a potential offer of a Tudor BB red on bracelet + $2k for the sub (which is actually in really good condition). I like both watches but when I put them side by side there is something about the Tudor that speaks to me. Maybe because it's larger and more modern. I don't know. I don't want to get caught in the name and prestige game and just wear something I like!

Great to hear you are not going to blindly follow the crowd and are choosing what speaks to you. The BB is a great watch. The dimensions and proportions of the case retain that elegance which I think the newer maxi case Rolexes lack (I own the new GMT Master II by the way).
The innovation and design at Tudor of the past few years has been fantastic and elevated the brand to compete with brands at a much higher price point. |

BB is a great choice! Are you getting the ETA or the in-house?

BB discussion now!
I would probably get the ETA. It is more affordable and as a plus, easier to service with an ETA movement. When needed, I could take it probably to any watchmaker whereas the in-house movement would be more trouble.
