Hi guys,
New to the group and love the wealth of information and friendly vibe here.

I recently got a ‘78 1500 from a friend of mine that is almost ready to hit the streets (needed some love but was all there and just age/ maintenance issues) that came on an aftermarket jubilee. I planned to wear it on a strap but seeing pics of them on their factory Oyster bracelets made me realize I had to have one. After going back and forth about getting the correct vintage with all the issues related to a 40 year old bracelet I decided I would patiently wait to find a clean vintage one with the right date code and buy a newer one for daily wear.

Saw this one on the bay listed several times and nobody bid on it so I put a low ball bid on it and won- and I was the only bidder. Everything seems to look good, I believe in his earlier listings the seller said it came off an Airking (since has removed that info) and to my forum learned eye it looks legit...but why was I the only bidder? What did everyone else see that I didn’t? Seller has lots of feedback but very little from selling and none from watches (although he is a watch guy since he’s buying lots from Holbens)-maybe even a forum member.

I can’t post links yet as I am a newbie so I’ll include pics and the auction # if anyone want to investigate further.

Auction # 192866922726

I just feel like I got in the short line at the DMV and don’t know why it’s so short.

Appreciate the additional eyes,
James
