Anyone else annoyed these brands got new drops without delivering preorders?

Both Ming and Christopher Ward announced new watch drops today which quite annoyed me as they are still months away from delivering on previous Watch orders. Just seem to be cracking out more and more models without delivering on the older models

The Ming is apparently 8 grams making it the lightest watch ever for for 19,500 swiss franks no thanks

Lighter than a Richard Mille? If so, it should cost $375,000 ;-)

Brands can’t stand still, they have to continually bring new products to market.

They will probably be slow to deliver the new releases also. They need to release new watches to keep interest in the brand up, even if actual deliveries are slow.

They have to keep their pipeline full as a company trying to grow. For them it’s a balance of catching up on preorders while keeping cash flowing in the meantime with new releases. Being “caught up” isn’t their goal right now as much as us collectors would like it to be. Until they have enough cash on hand like the more well established brands do to be able to float R&D of new models they probably want to always be playing catch up.

This is all just me thinking like a business owner I don’t actually have any inside info about either company. I can make comparisons to my own business tho which helps me relate to how they’re running theirs.

I'm liking the CW aventurine dial / moonphase. Looks like a budget Moser in the most complementary way.

Did you think Rolex was the only brand that could make customers wait months or years on wait lists?
