Just picked up a Black Monster as a birthday present for my brother-in-law, and while I'm checking it for accuracy and reliability before giving it to him, I figured I'd take the opportunity to take a few shots of some of the SS watches lying around the house:

Thanks, Robb! The concentric circles on the Tudor's subdials can be challenging to capture on film, but they give the dial that little something extra!

The sub dials are stunning. Almost pearl like.

No secret how much I love Tudor chronos.

That's a great example and a great pic to boot.

Yup, it's powered by the 7S26 movement running at 21,600 bph. It's Seiko's workhorse movement, so it's not anywhere close to COSC spec (this one's currently running at +12 on my watch winder), but it's got virtually bulletproof reliability.

on that stacked pic (very well done) that thing looks huge. be a nice workout for your forearms...

Thomas, yes, the Black Monster's secodn from the left in the first shot. It's a chunky watch and it feels heavier than any of the other watches in the photos. Good thing my brother-in-law's a lot bigger than me - the BM's a real wrist hammer!

I was vewwwwy vewwwwy careful!

All of the casebacks were pretty flat and even though the Black Monster's dial was domed, it was still flat enough to form a stable base. Draping the bracelets over each other helped stabilise the pile too.

Well Steve, the Black monster is meant to be an "I mean business" watch, but we do what we can to get it to scrub up well.

I'm hoping he'll like it - let's find out next week!

Hey I noticed that the crowns on the Tudor and SD are straight up, perfectly aligned. Beautiful pictures and a great gift for a bro-in-law. He must be a good one, and that's as wonderful as a Rolex!
