YM42 Falcon Eye
Anyone able to pick one of these up yet? Is this another unobtainable model...?

I never hear my AD really bring it up or talk about it. I don’t think they make many of them. Dial is super important in terms of how each watch is so different.

Few and far between. Very tough to get through your AD.

I have never seen one in person but a couple forum members have gotten one from their AD. I would ask your AD if seriously interested, I would think it’s possible.
The YM42 is one of my favorites. I assume the Falcon Eye would add a lot of depth and interesting glimmers, while maintaining the YM42’s excellent legibility.

I have the one and only piece my AD has received. I’m not sure why Rolex has been so slow to roll these out.
Good news is that I hear from my ADs that very few people even know about the Falcon’s Eye version, let alone have it near the top of their wishlist. If you really want it, be persistent and you may get lucky. |

I've tried one on in a used watch dealer in Burlington Arcade. It really is a very special watch. Changes from deep gloss black to all sorts of oily purples and greys as to twist it in the light. Quite subtle and gorgeous. Not much of a premium on the plain dial white gold YM42 if you can get it at retail. But I imagine ADs will be playing bundling games with these.

I’ve posted a few times previously, but happy to post again

That’s the beauty of these dials, each is so unique. Mine has less deep blue / purples and more browns / greens. |

Very rare. Pictures don't do it justice in person according to a buddy of mine who saw one at an NBA game on the son of a famous person's wrist sitting next to him. That's about as close as I've gotten to "seeing" one or hearing about one.

That thing does not picture well. I have only seen one in person ... a client of mine owns one and it was EXTREMELY difficult to get. He has very deep pockets so there's that!

Just looks like a scratched, damaged dial.

The dial has an etherial three-dimensionality on the wrist that is indeed very difficult to photograph. It is very special in person

Dials with depth never look good in pictures. Meteorite in pictures is nothing special, on the wrist with your own eyes it is out of this world.

I've now told my AD that no matter what else I want, if that one comes in I want it as well... We will see - I doubt the call will ever come.....

Haven’t seen one in person yet. Not sure the dial is worth the premium but that could change if I ever got to take a live look.

Very, very cool, thanks for sharing! Have only handled one right after launch (i.e., a demo version) at my then AD and was craving for some images after having visited this thread a few times.
Cheers Marc |

It kinda looks like an old car black paint under the sun though. I much prefer Chopard rendition of a bird eye
