No, you do not have to be a pledge member to purchase. But as a new member, sellers may require more info from you before they will be willing to sell to you.

You do have to be a pledge member to post in the classified forums, including the want-to-buy forum.

The Forum allows members to sell in the appropriate Board if they meet some minor requirements. This keeps these things off the main discussion boards.

The Forum is not involved in any sales and you are not purchasing from or on the Forum, you are communicating directly with the seller.

I expect that some viewers contact sellers who aren't members at all, although they then cannot communicate via pm (messaging).
