5726/1A fit/experience
Hi all, I’m curious about those of you who have owned a 5726/1a. For those of you who own or have experienced this reference, would mind sharing your experience with the watch? Can you compare it to any other watches in terms of feel (I.e. siliar to a Rolex GMT master II - both around 40mm and 11-12 mm thick)? I currently own a 5968a which wears large but is ok for my wrist.
I think there’s a chance that the 5726/1A will be coming my direction in the near future. I had requested 5712 thinking that the contrast between the bulk of the 5968a and the thin case of the 5712 would be nice but it doesn’t look to be going that way. All that to say, I’m absolutely thrilled about the prospect of a 5726/1a. Thoughts on the fit and experience with the watch would be much appreciated!

If you're trying to compare to a Rolex sports reference. The presence is more like a Daytona to me. Definitely wears sleeker than the other sports reference like a sub or GMT.

thanks so much, that is helpful. One additional question to add. Does the version on the bracelet come with the ability to purchase leather straps from Patek to use interchangeably?

It’s pretty comfortable and comparable to a Rolex. It’s not that diff from a DD 40. I wore it today.

I own a 5726. To me it wears less bulky than a rolex GMT/Sub. If you can pull off the 5968a you will be fine with the 26a. It's slightly thicker than a 5711 or 5712 but not bulky imo. I don't think you can add a strap to the 5726/1a but you can always add the 5726a!

I believe the steel bracelet and leather strap Nautilus models have a different-sized connecting link that is not sold separately. The one on the strap models looks bigger. So I don’t know of a way to connect a strap to a 1A model. I don’t even think RubberB or TempoMat have made them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro |

Compared to a Sub I thought it wore much sleeker. After always hearing it's so much bulkier than the 5712 I expected it to be too thick. It really isn't. Funny to see how the 5712 is now harder to obtain than the 5726.

It's 142g, which is slightly heavier than a GMT II (140g) but lighter than a Sub (148g). Nautilus wears small and compact compare to a Rolex sport except for the 11 series SS Daytona.

In my opinion, it has an entirely different feel from any Rolex model which I own, but it's more because of the butterfly style clasp as opposed to the Rolex deployant. People say it's thick or top heavy, but really only when compared to thinner Nautilus models. It's definitely a different feeling than the 5711/2. It's a pleasure on the wrist.

I thought the 5726 was harder to obtain.. according to my AD in HK.. they said they receive so few 5726 compared to the 5712 annually...

Supply is one factor but then there is demand. In a recent Nautilus poll here a lot more people opted for 5712 blue than 5726 blue. The earlier 5726 variants were a lot less desirable than 5711/12 blue. That only changed somewhat when 5726 blue was launched into the emerging Nautilus hype.
