New Daytona Black Dial vs Sea Dweller 50th

I'd choose the new SD over the black dial 116500.
Other option is to get the Daytona first and if you have second thoughts, you should be able to flip it without a loss. The same can't be said if you get the SD first.

I agree with Travis, it depends on which one sings to you. I'd choose a diver over a chrono any day.

For me between these 2 I would go Daytona. Only because I wish the SeDweller didn't have a cyclops. Doesn't hurt as well that my collection currently has 3 divers and no Chrono yet.

D500 obviously has its extra benefits but if you are going to wear and look at the watch everyday then you really have to pick the best one for you, a few extra grand in the account really gets boring to look at after a while.

If you have the opportunity to scoop up a brand new 116500 from an AD you should. You can always flip it for the SD43 and even make a few books if you change your mind. It might be a long time before you have the opportunity to get another though if you pass it up.

If I were you I'd get both even if it meant floating a little extra money temporarily. Both watches are still demanding quite a bit on the secondary market. Once you own both you can make your decisions.

If I could only have one watch, of the two, I'd probably go with the SD43. But luckily I don't have to choose :)

Depends on your wrist size. For me th daytona wears to small and I don't have that big of a wrist.

First function, is there a complication you would use more. Next wearability, I feel the Daytona wears a bit more elegant while any diver brings some ruggedness to a more polished outfit. Most of all, try them on and see what feels like home. Good look. Beautiful pieces, maybe you just need to figure out what to get first???

In this case I would take the SeaDweller.

But my opinion has zero value to anyone other than me and even less when you consider, in this example, watch for watch, I would choose any Rolex diver over any Daytona to wear.

Obviously if we bring flipping into the scenario then it's a different story but that's the same as saying I would take a pile of cash with the value of the MSRP on a platinum Daytona over a pile worth that of a white gold Sub. If you're willing to buy a Rolex and put in the effort of selling Bnib Rolex to make a little cash then the Daytona C is the choice between the two.

It's always a choice personal to you which watch to get. Maybe create a poll if you are looking for help with your decision, for me it's a no brainer black dial 500 as I'm lucky to have one :)

Personally not a fan of the SD43 aside from the red lettering, don't get the 43mm size and cyclops, but many here are loving theirs and vice versa are not fans of the DaytonaC.

I would stick to Daytona if I had to make a decision between these two because I like to use Chronograph a lot. I have not paid attention that the lugs on the. new Sea Dweller is that beefier until you posted this picture

If you asked me this question last week I would have said Daytona C - easy answer.

Today I have had my new SD43 for 48 hrs and would not swap it for the Daytona.

If you can get the Daytona at retail that's probably the smartest financial move. You can flip easily, as has been said before, not lose money and maybe make a few bucks. Trying to do the same with the SD isn't likely. Now that's the financial aspect which does not impact which you like better on your wrist.

I gave up waiting on the Daytona and got the first SD I could get my hands on.
