Good morning

Sent by Taptalk from my phone which rather annoyingly and randomly rotates my pictures the wrong way around whenever it takes a fancy. I am sure the damn things got a mind of its own. :-(

I hear you my friend but Hublot was the first one to introduce the rubber strap on a luxury sport watch in 1980 which came 13 years before the Offshore. Both have had a "porthole" (hublot in French) as source of inspiration so it makes sense that the designs resemble each other. For people that say that it is because of JC Biver who used to work at AP and stole the blueprint before moving to Hublot, I attached a picture of the first Hublot that was created way before Biver joined in.

Anyway, I believe AP and Hublot can complement each other in a collection and find that it is a pity people care so much about branding and prestige, and what the next guy might think, rather than buying a finely finished piece that one finds aesthetically appealing period.

This is my first Hublot and I find it very clean. Also, it looks much better in real than on picture. Being $15'000 cheaper than a RG Offshore 44mm on the pre-owned market, makes it also a good bargain.
