Datejust Turnograph Rhodium Roman Dial

Hi, This is my first post here.

I recently purchased a used Rolex Datejust Turnograph with a Rhodium finished Roman numeral Dial. I checked the serial numbers against the water paperwork and everything looks like it's authentic to me, but I'd appreciate some experienced input on it from the forum since you guys seem to have a rather in depth knowledge of these things. I don't think the watch is worth enough to warrant taking it to a Rolex Service Center to pay them to authenticate it.

One of the pics shows a slight scratch in the sapphire crystal. Not sure how the previous owner managed to scratch sapphire, but it's small enough that I really don't mind that much.

It looks real to me, however the bezel doesn't look right for that watch. I'm not an expert on slightly older ones such as that, so I could be wrong. However, I think it is a true DJ with either an aftermarket or YM bezel.

The watch is a K24**** serial number so it was made in 2001. Does that help any with the bezel style? Oh, and the bezel turns both ways with minimal turning resistance. I took it to a watch store to polish the bracelet and the repairman told me that the bezel is supposed to be unidirectional so the bezel spring must be broken.

It looks to me like the Thunderbird Bezel has been added afterwards to a DJ. The bezel - if correct should be White Gold matching a Two Tone White Gold band. This band looks all Stainless Steel.
Look at my Thunderbird below for comparrison:

My Bezel turns 360 degrees -
Looking at yours and from what you say........ I would say this is a normal S/S DateJust with a White Gold Thunderbird Bezel clipped in.

I don't know, Rolex caught a nearly perfect counterfeit case/bracelet when I sent one in for an insurance appraisal (same thing as authentication).

Hi and welcome to TRF!
If you have any doubts,I suggest you to take it to RSC.I don`t know what are you thinking when you say that "watch didn`t worth enough" for taking it to RSC.
IT IS worth of that amount, believe me!
Couple years ago I bought Explorer II without box and papers.I literally couldn`t sleep at night untill I take it to RSC.They opened it(for some money,of course) and confirmed that I bought the real thing!
You should do the same, otherwise you`ll never know...And there`s another possibility,to take it to some GOOD and experienced private watchmaker, who will also be able to open it.
I hope that it`s real,BTW!

Take a look at this one for sale on eBay. Looks like Rolex does make the Thunderbird Bezel for stainless Datejusts.

I have the same watch

I have the exact same watch.....bought it in 2001 from an authorized rolex dealer in Las Vegas. I do believe it is 100% original as mine is. I have not worn my watch for many years and am going to sell it. It is in perfect condition like yours. Can I ask what you paid for it?

It looks authentic to me. To be 100% certain, have it authenticated.
