Women's Rolex: How is the supply & demand?

A good friend who is pregnant and looking at 'push presents' dropped me a message today asking how hard it is to get a datejust, 31mm, MOP, Diamonds, Two-tone... no dealer history.

I have a pretty good idea of what might be possible/not for men's sports watches, but I have no idea if the supply/demand dynamics are the same for women's Rolex.

What's you're experience?

How hot is this model?

Oh, and of course, gents, if you too have insights, feel free to share.

Will vary by market.
Contact local AD as only they will know.

A 31mm, TT, diamond model shouldn't be in high demand at all. Her wait may be limited to how often the AD gets that model in.

Not sure on a diamond bezel configuration in terms of rarity. My wait for my wife's DJ31, pink dial, fluted bezel on jubilee was 3.5months.

I was thinking the same, as I know it cannot be ordered, at this time.

It’s a present from her husband to the wife as a symbol of appreciation for the welcoming of the new baby. Friends would not get other friends a push present. They may attend a baby shower to bring an outfit and diapers or something.

I would tell this friend who wants the watch to talk to her local AD and ideally have a Men’s watch they want to put themselves up for as well. First, as others said, it’s not a super popular model so it just depends how often they come in. But it should help them get something slightly more obtainable like a Sub.

A "Push present" is something invented via social media to make people feel like they need to keep up with one another, and out-do the last person or other friend that had a baby. It's since been adopted by marketers and now it's one of those things that's become quietly frowned upon if you don't partake.

It never existed a matter of 4-5yrs ago, and at least here in the UK, neither did baby showers, they appeared about 10yrs ago from over the Atlantic.

Silliness.

Interestingly when I was recently discussing my request for the turquoise OP with a female SA (I am also female) in a bigger AD store she told me that she did not have a lot of requests for the turquoise dial because most of her clients were looking for MOP dials. I got the impression that she had a significant amount of female clients and that the most popular thing was MOP.

That’s interesting. MOP would be my last choice of dial. Maybe you’ll get lucky.

The Rolex Datejust 31mm with Mother-of-Pearl dial, Diamonds, and Two-tone usually referred to as Rolesor, combining stainless steel and gold is a popular choice among women due to its elegance, versatility, and the luxury appeal of diamonds.

Best ask some ADs. I can't tell you what's in stock or how long you would wait.

If a woman needs a C-section, does she still deserve a “push present?”

Push Present... See the FUNNY comedy series Dubai Bling.

The wife should buy the man a Conception Present! Many women are trying to get pregnant, some fail... so the man earned a present.

Conception Present... it's a new thing worth celebrating

From my understanding MOP is quite hard to find.

Since the material is from the inside of Mollusk shells, I guess it is. There is a premium when used on a watch dial. I have a MOP Tissot PRX 80 and it was more expensive than the highly sought after Ice blue dial, not by a lot though. While not usually a big fan, I liked it on this already very cool reference:

Quite a large jump in assumptions there! lol
No, women are truly Superheroes through pregnancy and birth and postpartum, and deserve all the pampering they can get. Usually a “push present” is a gift from the father to the mother to thank her for the incredible amounts of selflessness, compromise and bravery required throughout motherhood. Think of it like a pre-mother’s day gift.

So no, she’s not expecting the gift from me, it’s her husband who is in trouble there!

Yeah - what did pregnant women ever do for us anyway.. :P

Obviously all other reasons to buy a Rolex are far more justifiable than this, but humour me with some valuable input..

Maybe it should be called a “give-up-everything-you-enjoy-in-life-including-wine-food-and-sleep-then-put-your-body-through-life-risking-trauma-followed-by-endless-anxiety-and-judgement gift”!?

I expect the AD will say this particular watch is difficult to obtain because they are still peddling the notion of scarcity. For ladies watches it’s BS now.
