Adventures of a Bluesy

With all the “Is it safe?”, “one and only?”, “Ah, the scratches!! What do I do?” Threads lately I’ve decided to document a few well lived years in a Rolex 16613LB life.

Hope you all enjoy!! Advance apologies if there is feet in the pics, I know how much some of you hate that.


15 June 2020. Just picked her up, can’t stop staring. A dream realized I never thought would happen.


It is safe to play tug of war with your 120lb dog.


It’s also safe ish to let him wear it.


It still works 30’ deep inside a manhole.



It is superbly capable of keeping time while boating.





It’s not going to catch on fire or gain seconds because it got too close to the grill.


It’s safe to wear during a pandemic.

It will keep time while working on old Fords. (Best to take it off when working in tight spaces though)

It’s fully capable at dinner.


Or while weedwhacking


While riding a job site


While riding the farm catching calves


While smoking cigars in the shed it still works


Riding the farm again



Safe around heavy machinery in the cold

It didn’t need a service after doing demo and block work

Or after mixing mud


You can raise your office flag and it still works


It. Loves. Water.



It can even work on Chrysler’s.



Survived a dive trip without a scratch, would have had underwater pics but go pro fell off and I lost it.



It’s safe to get blood on it. It just washes off.



It’s safe to inspect a deficiency in a storm line with it.



Didn’t get bit by sharks or barracudas.

It isn’t afraid of sunsets




Or night time on the water



A little saw dust never hurt anything



It stays on your wrist while your arm is out the window of the truck



Ear scratches don’t phase it a bit


It’s still capable around track machines



I think it actually likes being on the wrist during ear scratches

Safe to give the cows some Spanish moss as a treat. (Watch your fingers though)



Safe to tear down a steel building



Didn’t have any issues cleaning wild pigs



Or while running a mini



Can still ride around farm.



Can load fence posts without fail


It works checking fence.



Or while driving the deuce


It loves making new friends

Didn’t get scratched holding a beasts paw



Or while running a skid steer


Made it out of Chicago unscathed (just be vigilant and street smart)


Didn’t die during a rickshaw ride and those guys are nuts


It can even sit in the back of the plane without fail



Black tie reception? No problem. Saw someone else wearing a stainless Omega sea master.



You can wear a polyester shirt with it but it’s itchy.



More sawdust but it loves remodeling

It can take a blow with a mini sledge better than your wrist can.



You can visit any kind of bar with it.

It won’t harm the watch to hold wild corn snakes


Or to check for life during a homeless camp on fire.




We got within a few feet of this guy without harm and he was about 5’ long.

Eh, that snake was just doing it’s job and living it’s life. They’re probably more afraid of most of us than anyone is of them. I actually thought I hurt it at first, so I grabbed it to take to a safer place where I wasn’t working and make sure it wasn’t harmed. Never once tried to strike at me.

I enjoyed this photo essay so much! I bought a bluesy just like it in 1992 from an AD and it was well lived-in too. I even ran a marathon wearing it.

One of the best threads on TRF ever. It inspires me to wear mine more often, although some of those farm pics I might go with a G-Shock, lol. Thanks so much for posting.
