Gold...first time
I always hear rumors about our company used to give out Gold Rolexes to employees who have been working here for at least 20 to 30+ years..
Today I finally witnessed one from one of the directors about to retire this year. He said it was given by the owner of the company, there were 15 gold Rolexes given out to the management, it was originally a white dial but he had it changed to a blue dial. His name and company's name are engraved on the back case. Isn't it a stunning watch with great history ? The bracelet is very stretched, date is not correct, but he has the time right. |

even in uk the american companies are known to look after their workers even bottom line workers here get $500+ gifts for working as little as 5 and 10 year marks its a great gesture in my opinion |

It was a familty owned American company used to be good to their employees before it got bought by a Fortune 500 company ( Aerospace ).
No more good old benefits like in the 80-90s. Quote:

Cool watch and very generous gesture. I used to hear stories like this, but like you said - back in the day.

Very nice. I hear about this all the time and it is often shown in movies and television. It is nice to know that these things do happen.

My 5-year gift at a high tech company was a Pulsar Quartz watch. It fell apart right out of the box.
Glad they gave out stock options. Those were worth something - until a crash. |

Thats a great story. I work in an international packaging company and was negotiating a joint venture with another Asian packaging company. The Asia company was represented by the owner and two other high level employees. At the end of their trip, the owner bought each one of them (3) a IWC watch to celebrate this trip. The kicker was that the JV wasn't even near complete yet.

I read in a Harvard Business Review 15 or so years back that in the 50's the average CEO of a fortune 500 company made something like 15 times the average income of their workers, by 2000 that had changed to 300 times, with options/shares etc..... I don't see companies doing much for workers these days unless they are literally at Board level.
