2023 off catalogue releases

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any knowledge or information on the Daytona gem set releases from this years W&W.

This is all I can find - images below.

Im looking for any information or links that people might have. I’m looking also for details on the RRP. And before people start with comments like “you’ll never see one, if you have to ask” …. etc etc. feel free to skip that commentary. I’m just after genuine information please. Ok, if you must post other nonsense, try and keep it witty

Thanks

All those exist plus a few more - a fully diamond set Daytona, a diamond and green gem (sorry don’t know the stone name) left hand drive GMT and a one off completely diamond set GMT apparently even the back of the watch is diamond set.

In terms of the Daytona’s you sent the ruby set white gold is around £350k and the platinum with diamond bezel is around £120k according to my AD.

Exactly what information are you looking to extract? Spend at least half a million or more at your ad and maybe they will tell you everything you need to know .

Thanks.

My AD would not know if anyone here has one, or has pictures they can post. Or has seen one of these watches and can relate their own experience or impression.

But I appreciate your great advice.

Thank you,
The green stone would likely be an emerald.
I didn’t expect that ruby would be worth more than diamond, but I’m not a jeweler.
Thanks again

Not sure what the price differential is on the rubies vs diamonds that Rolex uses. But ruby vs diamond bezel/hour markers isn't the only difference; the lugs on the ruby version are also set with diamonds. The platinum Daytona on the left also appears to be entirely "stock" aside from the bezel, while the WG/ruby version appears to require far more one-off work.

What I find interesting about the ruby version is the striking resemblance, from a distance, to the Omega Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th anniversary model. Very distinctive look and surprised Rolex would choose to follow suit.

Not sure that list is correct as the Rose Gold Daytona was discontinued in 2022! The 2023 Rainbow Daytona is only available in WG and YG and both come with Sapphire Dials as the Diamond dial was also discontinued in 2022 on the YG model.

Kinda off topic but on the get set GMT-2 it seems lazy that the script on the dial is green still. I think gold or a color specific to the rubies or sapphires would look better. Just toss a LN dial in there seems like a short cut. Anyone else?

I noticed that, too ! That's especially true when other dials did in fact exist (steel BLRO, WG BLNR) and printing some one-offs couldn't be that big a deal. It's also ironic given they could go to the trouble of changing out the 24hr hand (in the case of the WG, didn't exist on any other model).

To me it makes them look like aftermarket mods, where someone took their stock GMT and had all these gem stones added to it.

No problem. It’s really amazing to see what Rolex has to offer. Third of those I did not even know it existed.

This year they're making one-off Sea-dweller in white gold with diamonds everywhere, including side of bezel and around caseback. Its wild, hopefully pics surface at some point.

I have no idea why but I can't seem to access the millenary website.
I'm trying to find out what the current gem set gmt offerings are. Anybody able to help?

Thanks very much

All of them should be trading multiples over retail.. So that's the answer to whether they are worth it

As to how rare they are.. I have never seen any of these around

These are not lore - I had an AD literally tell me these pieces are allocated to their top 2 clients by overall spend.
