Review of the Tudor Pelagos + Some DSLR Shots
Well, I just got this watch recently and posted an incoming thread just a week ago.
One week on and I am wearing this watch almost daily. It has grown on me a lot. So here's is a quick review + some DSLR shots. Overview The Tudor Pelagos is a modern Tudor watch that is designed first thing first as a tool watch build for everyday wearing. As a diving watch, it has a 500m depth rating and the package comes bundled with a rubber strap and a strap extension as well. The watch is constructed mainly out of Titanium which is considerable lighter yet tougher than stainless steel. Appearance, comfort and build quality The watch case and the bracelet is constructed out of titanium. That means it feels very light and comfortable. Wearing this watch makes me almost "forget" that it is there in the first place. The appearance as I mentioned in my incoming thread is rather bland, almost dull and "boring" if you will like to call it. It's the ultimate "anti-bling" watch and most likely will not catch any unwanted attention. The entire watch is fully satin finished to give it an understated elegant appearance. It is after all designed to be an every day tool watch. The dial is strictly monochromatic black and white with the snowflake hands that is geared towards legibility. I didn't measure how many "seconds" were loss during my one week of use but suffice to say, I didn't have any issues with the accuracy. The ceramic infused rotating bezel clicks 60 times in one round and the action of turning the bezel is very smooth with very satisfying audio feedback by the clicking sound when the bezel is turned. In fact, I find myself turning the bezel often just for the fun of it. The crown is also made of Titanium and offers a great grip when winding the watch or setting the date/time. Bracelet and Rubber Strap The bracelet's design is just ingenious. After the mandatory links removal adjustment, there are three fixed positional settings to cater to various wrist size. I find the mid position to be the best fit for my 6.75" wrist. But that's not all, the bracelet can also be set to a "freely adjustable" position. Operated by two spring coils, the bracelet can expand and contract on demand, a real boom to wear the watch with a diving suite or for those whose wrist tends to contract or expand more with physical activity. If need be, there is also a flap that can be opened up to lengthen the bracelet further as a diver's extension. The rubber strap is also very comfortable and wears even lighter than the bracelet. It's fit with a Titanium buckle. A perfect weekend option or when you wants to achieve a more casual look with the watch. The Lume Mandatory for all diving watches are good lume and in this particular department, the Tudor Pelagos easily outshines my the other two diving watches, which includes the Omega Planet Ocean and the AP Diver. Not only is it brighter but it last longer as well. However, it has to be said that the AP Diver is particularly weak in this department. Below are some more of the lume pics I have taken and a comparison pic with the Omega Planet Ocean The Negatives The watch is not without negatives. It mainly has to do with the bracelet and strap. The rubber strap is rather difficult to put on. I find it tedious to try to fit the strap into the rubber endings that hold the watch as the space is rather narrow. So putting on and removing the Pelagos with the rubber strap takes up more time than an impatient person like me will like. No such issues with the bracelet. The clasp employs a bi folding clasp design much like the Rolex Explorer to help secure the watch better. However, the clasp does not fully flush with the links, a design necessity I suppose to allow the bracelet to move freely. Unfortunately, that will also mean the clasp plate can feel a bit loose when put on. Removing the watch is not the simplest of task as I find the opening to be rather thin and narrow. In my opinion this could have been better design. Conclusion The Pelagos is a fantastic watch and if watches have "inner beauty", this is one watch that posses this attribute in abundance. It is a watch that I find when looking upon it the first time to be very unimpressive but putting it on and wearing it, it sings an entirely different tune and gradually grows on me. I think it has find a permanent place in my collection as one of my daily wearer. As long as you are fine with it's understated looks, it's a great everyday watch that will suit it's intended purpose. |

Fantastic shots!!
That last shot makes the bracelet look like it has vintage soul, incredible! Congrats on picking a winner, the Pelagos is definitely a stand out piece among its peers, no competition. |

Thanks guys for your compliments. One thing to note though, this watch seems to photograph better than it actually looks in real life. So see one for yourself before you decide to buy.

Mine just came this week...
Going to Mexico next week and plan on taking it into the ocean and the pool... the stretching bracelet is awesome as i always hate trying to fit metal bracelets to my super small wrists, negatives for me are getting the bracelet off to put on the rubber strap is a pain in the a$$ also if you touch it, it seems to scratch... I guess in a fews years it will have great "patina" |

However, it took me awhile to get used to the gray hue of the titanium. I think that grey hue seems to get lost in photos. I didn't notice under the bright lights of the AD either. |

I got to try on a Palagos on my last trip to San Francisco. Great watch. Love it. I think it's a great value, too. I'd love to own one, though I think it would be too similar to my 114060.
