Day date 40 Romans or sticks
Asking for some help here. My 50th birthday is coming up and I’m looking to reward myself for an exceptional year. Looking at white gold day date 40s. White gold as I prefer to fly under the radar and I don’t want to spend the $$$ on platinum. Going solely on pictures I prefer the slate dial with sticks but the blue with romans is growing on me. How about showing me some white gold day dates on the wrist to help me make this decision.
Thanks everyone! |

I don't like Romans or gems on watches so it would be an easy choice for me. Romans clutter up the dial and the deconstructed ones on the DD look silly to me. I've never worn diamonds and never will. The only diamonds I own are in my loudspeakers and they don't glitter.
I couldn't begin to tell you what's best for you. As long as you are happy with it, that's all that matters. |

WG is truly under radar. I think it looks too much as a DJ. I would go for the everose and chocolate Go and try them on and see if it’s Roman or sticks for you |

So after owning some Day Dates, I've changed my tune throughout the years. Originally, I was a huge deconstructed Roman fan based on pics alone. Then in person and on wrist, I realized it was highly limited in wearability. Romans formalize the watch so much and take away a huge perk of it......the flexibility. It's a sport watch/dress watch combo, take advantage of this.
So in conclusion, sticks, 100%. I'm pondering adding back a slate stick DD40 to the mix, it's an amazing watch and screams 'stealth wealth'. Opposite what I just had with the YG DD40 w/ baguettes. |

I have Roman’s only disadvantage for me is that there is no lume at night …. I didn’t know that at the day of purchase.

Myself prefer Roman in the DD,but dial type should be down to what the prospective owner wants.

Im a Roman guy all the way - especially deconstructed Romans. Sticks on a DD feels too much like a DJ.

WG Romans on Blue. Just got mine from the AD last month. Amazing, can’t stop looking at it and love the weight. I was leaning olive but legibility was a bit of an issue. I’d prefer olive on the everose for that reason. Sticks solid option but agree has too much Datejust look for my taste.
