My first Rolex and another on the way.

For a while I have wanted a 116234 DJ silver stick on a Jubilee. Partly for financial reasons but mainly because I love anticipating things I wanted to collect this much desired watch in mid December on the day I go on a 3 week trip to the Far East with my fiance. I thought this would be a realy good excitement overload that I could look forward to. So this week I went to my AD on Bond Street in London, had the beautiful DJ in my hands, put down a substantial deposit and will collect in December. Can't wait guys

Anyway, a while ago I also developed an uncontrollable desire for a Sub Date. As you know, these are a bit more difficult to come by than DJ's and get snapped up quickly. There has also been the speculation about it being replaced with a beefed up model. For a while there have been none in London - but today I saw two in Watches of Switzerland and I snapped one up. They had recently had a delivery of 3 and one went to a guy who had put down a deposit (forum member perhaps ?).

So now I have my first Roly - the Sub Date - and I am totally besotted with it. Its like sex only better (well, nearly). I can't take my eyes of it.

So I am very happy....and whats more I still have that lovely DJ to look forward to.

I think the Sub and DJ both compliment each other nicely. They represent the two iconic faces of Rolex - the dress and the professional.

P.S - When I figure out how to post pics I will see what I can do. My camera is crap though.

Thank's guys. I am very excited about both. As to which will get more wrist time, I will let you know when I get the DJ. I would like it to be 50/50 but who knows, the Sub may prevail.

Heading East - to Thailand - for 3 weeks in mid Dec. My fiance is Thai by birth so she can speak the language, which helps. Don't think I would have found that Sub out there - I hear they are rare in the Far East.

Intersting - there seems to have been a bulk delivery of Subs to the UK. That's probably it for the next 10 months

Totally thankless - and yet the world thinks we've got it made

But today, I just look down at my Sub and it powers me up, bit like a battery charger

TR, I agree 100 %

Incidentaly TR, you said in a post the other day about Subs being difficult to get in Asia. Why is that ? Is it because the DJ is far more popular in Asia so Rolex don't send as many ?

I think because Sub is very popular in Asia (Japan).
And almost all Subs is taken by Japan market.
After that, a few in other Asia country. So in here, we only receive small quantity.

Thanks TR. Before I bought my Sub I was thinking of looking for one in Bangkok - I might not have found one and if I did I suspect It might have cost more than in the UK.

Congratulations on the Sub! Also sounds like your going to have a great holiday this December when you pick on your second Rolex. Wear them in good health.
