Dream daily wear SS: 5711/1A, 5164A, Daytona Panda 116500LN

Imagine you could get any of the watches at retail and you never sell the watch, which do you buy and why?

I have this trio. Aquanaut is my daily watch. Beautiful watch, extra comfortable, discreet, super useful complication. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Man that’s tough. Definitely not the Daytona though, I don’t even think it can hold a candle against the other two.

It’s a toss up, but aquanaut given the comfort, versatility, durability, and complication.

Dont think you can get the Patek’s at retail bc they don’t make them anymore..
I’ve got 5164r, 5711 white and meteorite Daytona. Love the trio, would pick 5164r if I had to but that’s a pretty even trio and I wouldn’t be upset with any of the choices

Note that all 3 watches are discontinued, hence it’s a dream poll.

I was able to obtain a blue 5711/1A and 5164A at retail. I was not able to obtain a Panda Daytona

Interesting to read that. Same for me, despite multiple Rolex purchases with a single AD I did not qualify for a SS Daytona.

Great poll!

I have a small collection of Daytonas and own the 5164 and the 5811 both at Retail.

5811 is almost a daily for me. So comfortable.

As stated in other responses...either of these Pateks would win out over the Daytonas

Having bought all 3 at AD before they were scarce the 5164 was my favorite. It’s just a beautifully executed dial and complication. Cracking watch. I should have kept it.

5164 in steel became my exit watch, very versatile.
Super comfortable and discreet.

I love Daytonas but they are mass produced without the same finishing.

The Daytona for me. I like the looks and how robust the watch is in comparison to the others.

I already sold 2/3 so I am going with the one I haven’t sold, the Aquanaut.

For those of you that daily an aquanaut, how does it hold up? Have you ever serviced it?

Yes, under warranty for sticking date on the 324. They scratched the case during the service.

Still looks amazing!

Since this is a dream poll I will ask for the Tiffany-colour dial 5740 at retail, with Rexhep Rexhepi finishing every components behind and Kari Voutilainen guilloché the tiffany dial. I will take that.

I agree, my 5711 was a total mess after two years and spent loads of time at Patek, my panda holds up no problem, it’s more robust and better quality in my opinion, I got them both at retail.

Daytona is cool but the Pateks are in a different league.

5164A hands down. Have all 3 and it’s the one I would not part with of them.

Panda is more robust even though I think a 5711 can be a daily. I wore my 5u12 for several years as a daily. I just think the Rolex is a better daily.
