How does a company blatantly copy Rolex designs in the USA and get away with it?

As the title states: How does a company copy Rolex designs in the US and get away with it? Sure, plenty of watches have been inspired by or evolved from the Sub, etc. This is just a straight rip-off.

Familiar?

Where the watches look similar there have been many watches though the past decades that have been very similar.Well take the Blancpain 50 fathoms now that was on the market a full 9 months before the first Rolex sub and they are very similar.Myself have not got a problem with these types of watches, they have there own brand on dial and a totally different movement.Rolex did not invent everything in this watch world today as quite a bit of the Rolex watches we have today. Came from quite a few acquired Patents by Hans Wilsdorf of the R.W.C, like the twin lock crown and the auto-wind mechanism just to name two.And dont why you had to post such a huge picture. When the forum rules clearly states please keep to around 800X800.

The 50 fathoms model is interesting.

Patents seem quite a bit different than purely copying a design and building it for cheap (likely from cheap materials/labour). There's far more similarities between the Rolex and Invicta TT Sub, compared to the 50 fathoms models.

Given the strict US copyright/IP laws, I was surprised this particular company could continue to get away with it.

Anyhow, I stumbled across this watch because I have an Amazon gift certificate to spend. I've already acquired some amazing Kindle books to read, many of them for free. Good fun.
