Personalised rotor / oscillating weight

Saw this today when I popped into my boutique.

Does anyone have any experience on the lead time for the customising of the rotor?

All I was told is that the price is around $4500 and it wasn’t available for the 4302 currently.

Would probably consider it during a service for my 4401 calibre watches!

Wow this is pretty cool! I wonder if it's only for VIPs or if it is now available to anyone ordering a piece with one of these calibers...It wasn't long ago that rotor customization with AP seemed out of reach for non-VIP customers

i wonder if the $4,500 charge is for exchange or if you keep the original rotor as well.

I did ask about it before and my SA mentioned that as of then, it was for certain VIPs.

However I remember someone on here getting their Rotor customised by Clearwater after it was sent back for the creeping minute sub dial with the 4401.

From what I was told, you get to keep the original rotor so you can put it back if you want to in the future.

Back when I asked it was mostly only for 5134, and only for VIP, but if allowed could be fully custom art or engraving.

It looks like this is a new value add initiative for the new movements, and seems like its a lot more limited in scope than the last customisations.

Would love to do this for one of my watches, but not sure which one. Are we 100% sure we can keep the old rotor. I recall the guy who made the dinosaur rotor a few years ago on here said he couldn’t keep his original one

I heard about this program a couple months ago -- glad to hear they're finally rolling it out to newer movements!

Of course things may have changed, but I did a full rotor customization (more elaborate than just initials) back in 2022 and was not able to keep the original rotor. Price was a little over $5k + a ~$500 partial service required to install it. Total turnaround was almost a year from initial design to rotor installation, but I have to hope this new program will be faster since the options are quite limited.

Yeah that changed a bit. Now it is laser engraving so it is cheaper and quicker to do. And « accessible » to more client.
However because of this technics, you can’t do more more than basic design or initials…

Indeed but then he has more APs than the AP museum so is not a normal customer!

It has my name so I'd prefer not to post a photo, but it's my family crest surrounded by three-dimensional vines and leafing.

Discussed with my rep. It is SG$4,300 plus $600 for a full service (plus tax).

They keep the rotor, you do not get it
back (at least in Singapore).

Which boutique was this, if you don't mind asking?
