Rolex DayDate 40 228238

If I had to only have one watch; it would be the Rolex DayDate 40. I have had a DayDate since 1993, first an 1803, which I had for seventeen years, then an 18038 double quickset for a year, and then a DayDate II which I had from 2011 until 2020. The DayDate II’s proportions were not true to my earlier 36mm versions, with its exaggerated bezel. When I realized I could sell the DayDate II and get a new DayDate 40 for only an additional one-thousand dollars, it was easy decision. I ordered a yellow gold 228238 white dial with deconstructed romans. After an approximate six month, wait it arrived. It is perfectly sized for me. Not including the crown, it is 39mm across. It has some heft to it, but the President bracelet is very comfortable. The 228238 has the in-house 3255 movement, with a 70-hour power reserve.
